In 2016, at the age of 89, Opal Lee walked 1,400 miles from her home in Fort Worth, Texas, to Washington, D.C., in an effort to get #Juneteenth recognized as a national holiday. Today we look to the stars and celebrate every step.

@dmacphee itβs insane that weβve reached a point where millions of people think that the right way to reach truth in medicine is for a doctor to go on the radio and debate a comedian.

Well so are {{{ and }}} ! As Led Zeppelin pointed out, "sometimes words have n>1 meanings". π

[shaking my head] It's like you people don't even know how to speak English.
These are braces:

Yeah, those are BRACES.
Than you'd really hate what I propose:
Mandated that all pizza must have pineapple, anchovies and artichoke hearts until the country pulls it together.

I never say this, but, you should delete this.
I wrote about why Twitter has become a national security threat, and how its owner keeps making decisions that help violent autocrats and harm democracies around the world. Currently, Musk is not only re-platforming Kremlin-linked accounts β heβs amplifying them, despite Russiaβs continued involvement in war crimes and the distribution of terroristic content.

Time travel is hard to write about - it just about requires leaving logical loopholes, and hand-waving away a bunch of very real issues.
The books that have done it successfully (IMO) are the ones who embraced either the metaphor (ignore logic) or the reality (everything gets broken).
Example:
For you to exist, 1 sperm (and only that one) had to win a fight against 350,000,000 others. If your parents waited a day to conceive, you wouldn't exist. Time travel ruins everything.
Lonely ...
I've been wondering whether or not to use this photo. Sometimes, it takes the right mindset to see the beauty in a moment. The bird looks like a white pelican, and it's perched on what is probably some sort of navigational sign. That's Calcasieu Lake in the background, it's a large brackish lake to the east of the refuge. Locals call it big lake.
I'll need to make a decision on whether for file this in landscapes or white pelican. I don't have a seascape file, but the need may arise. Thus is the stressful life of a retiree.
"Sabine National Wildlife Refuge, established in 1937, is one of more than 560 refuges within America's National Wildlife Refuge System. Located eight miles south of Hackberry, on State Highway 27 in Cameron Parish, Louisiana, the refuge occupies the marshes between Calcasieu and Sabine lakes in southwest Louisiana." - fws.gov

Anecdotally, I can tell you my mother uses Meta, and my mother is not a nice person. I certainly don't want her hanging out, throwing her opinion into everything.
I doubt anyone here needs this reminder but:
The first person EVER diagnosed as autistic iirc passed away recently.
My point is that you should remember while we have always existed there wasn't a name for us until fairly recently.
Why is the diagnosis rate higher than it was 20 years ago? If I had to hazard a guess: in the short time science has recognized ASD they've learned more about it, so (hopefully) less people are slipping through the cracks.
Remember though: if you don't have an official diagnosis or mustn't get officially diagnosed for whatever reason: if you self diagnosed yourself as autistic, you're autistic. Congrats!
So... me. Work in aerospace, more space, not as much aero. Can fix my own car, choose not to. Can fix the random appliance of your choice. Hardcore introvert in person, which is why I love online. Lifelong science fiction fan. Read constantly. Scalzi is my favorite author, because he mixes exactly the right amount of snark into his writing.
