They did try really hard to create it, with as many layoffs as they could arrange, but they can only control so many jobs. I'm sure it's frustrating for them.

This really does give me flashbacks to teenage years and coming out. Not all of them good flashbacks. π€¨
I read an article printed a little while ago in the newspaper of the town where I was born and raised (and got the hell out) - lamenting that the kids are moving away, and how to stop it.
Don't be bigoted and hateful? Offer livable wages? Stop sneering at everything that didn't exist when your grandpa was a kid?
Just some ideas.
Good news: A big win for the Biden admin: The court holds that Texas & Louisiana lack Article III standing to challenge the administration's removal priorities for unauthorized immigrants. The court's 8β1 decision in this case, U.S. v. Texas, should substantially limit district court judge's ability to impose nationwide injunctions that block the Biden administration's immigration policies. Which is why Alito dissents. -Mark J Stern #ImmigrationReform

I tried out this "Hi, I'm autistic" thing yesterday, and I'm still processing (over-processing?) how it went.
Talking to the hygienist at the dentist office, treatment preferences, she asked if I knew why I prefer minimal contact. "I'm guessing it's the autism," I said.
She stopped talking to me, after that. In the past she's a chatterbox. Next appointment is scheduled with a different hygienist, in the past she's always pushed to book herself.
Processing? Or over-processing?
2nd toot of new handmade works:
The past week was really difficult. I feel a great need of changes in my life and am unsure of my path and some of my connections. It also meant I wasn't promoting much as I just wanted to hide. But my work requires me to always be out there, and I did make some things I'm proud of in those days of hiding. Maybe even things I could send to a loving home, make someone beautiful feel extra shiny and celebrated.

I do that with trips to the dentist (the place where I'm typing this). Don't like being touched, but I close my eyes and go anywhere else in my head, and I can tolerate it.
As with most everything else, taxpayers will be covering the costs of the oligarch's mistakes.

Today marks the release of 'Sixteen Hours', an hourlong piece of ambient music accompanied by field recordings of birdsong.
Long light music, warm water music β resonant, glassy, echoing, etc. Please share!

That trip was "exploration" in the same way my trips in the backyard were exploration.
So... me. Work in aerospace, more space, not as much aero. Can fix my own car, choose not to. Can fix the random appliance of your choice. Hardcore introvert in person, which is why I love online. Lifelong science fiction fan. Read constantly. Scalzi is my favorite author, because he mixes exactly the right amount of snark into his writing. Together with a guy 30+ years, married since it was legal. Own a home in CA and don't plan to leave unless I immigrate to another country.
