I would like for MSNBC to limit their discussions of TFG to 5 min per show. The rest is rehash. Meanwhile, all we hear about is him, so that leaves the impression heβs the most important/only important person in the nation. What goes unmentioned is all the accomplishments being achieved by Dems. Dems out in the Media cold zone. See how that works? Republicans have mastered media monopoly. When that starts to fizzle, they throw a tantrum and thatβs covered for weeks on end. #WiseUpWillYa
Good luck, and may you not get long COVID.
3.5 years of constant caution and sacrifice, withholding dinners at restaurants & concerts, and I let one professional event encourage me to take needless risks. I spoke in a room with 80 people without a mask. I asked the event planner to have air filters in the room, but she said "their effectiveness for Covid prevention is limited," which is, of course, BS, and that should've been when I withdrew from the event. I let my guard down, and now I have my first #COVID infection. Be safe out there!
That's something I've seen, liked, found useful, and never remember to do.
What is the etiquette about addressing somebody in a thread when there are lots of people involved?
I've noticed that when there are lots of responses in a thread, a person will insert their comment inside the list of "@names" so that it comes after the @name they're directly responding.
e.g.
---------------------------------
@name1.example
Hey there I agree with you
@name2.example
@name3.example
----------------------------------
Which seems good, as it makes it clear who you're talking to and can avoid misunderstandings, while still including other people in the conversation.
What about referring to somebody by name in your comment? Would you use their display name, or their @name?
"Dino"

D-I-N-O, Dino
New Zealand has designated seats in their House of Representatives for indigenous Maoris, who can choose to be registered on the electoral roll to vote for regular seats or the Maori ones. I would support a similar arrangement for America. It is the LEAST we could do for our indigenous peoples after what occurred in our history.
@ScottSoCal @dramypsyd I sometimes really regret leaving a job that fit very well with my ASD powered skillset (foreign languages, logistical planning) for my current field. It was a for a travel insurance assistance company where I was responsible for the logistical side of medical evacuations at the direction of medical staff...evacs worldwide π in a 24/7 call center environment. I actively used my German & Spanish skills and sometimes Russian. It didn't pay super great but it was work I absolutely loved & it was exciting. Also felt great to make a real difference saving lives. I miss it.
And yes, nobody is perfect, least of all anyone (like me) from the country of Jim Crow, but keep electing Danielle Smith in Alberta and we'll see how that works out.

But seriously stop electing White Supremacist fossil feudalists.

The snacks have possession. The people just need to share their space.

Just read A Short Stay in Hell. Good, quick existential read. Makes me wonder why people want to live forever.

The usual suspects, none of whom belong on the bench, but they got there, anyway. Thanks, GQP.
So... me. Work in aerospace, more space, not as much aero. Can fix my own car, choose not to. Can fix the random appliance of your choice. Hardcore introvert in person, which is why I love online. Lifelong science fiction fan. Read constantly. Scalzi is my favorite author, because he mixes exactly the right amount of snark into his writing. Together with a guy 30+ years, married since it was legal. Own a home in CA and don't plan to leave unless I immigrate to another country.
