Funny story: we sold the hybrid he'd been driving to someone who had never driven a hybrid. He was floored that a mid-size sedan got 36mpg, and even more floored when I told him that when I'd driven it (more carefully than hubs) I was getting 42mpg. On regular unleaded, not premium.
He was coming from a really old F150 truck that got 13mpg.
I can tell you I was a VW sceptic until this one. I didn't buy it for me, I bought it for the hubs, and he loved the ID.4. I've really been impressed with it. The ride, the handling, it's a great car.
For me, I'm probably going to get a Polestar 2 - I prefer sedans - but if that doesn't happen, I'm getting my own ID.4

I found a VW ID.4 that had been sold new 6 months earlier, and had less than 2,000 miles on the odometer, for $10,000 below MSRP sticker price. $22,000 less than the local VW dealer was selling them new.
Because it was so new, with so few miles, my credit union financed it at the new car interest rate, saving me 0.75% on the interest.

If you are thinking about buying an electric car, just be aware dealers have marked these up by $10K thereby negating the rebate and you still pay an extra ~$2500. The Capitalists really do want to kill the planet.

I still can't stop thinking about the guy who advised people to apply for jobs even if they don't meet the minimum requirements, because he succeeded at it all the time - and then buried in the replies revealed how all these jobs had involved personal introductions to the employer by friends.

I may be misinterpreting, but it reads as if your version of masking is to get your emotional response cues from others.

There are situations where I fall back on a script, but that's where the emotions are either too big, or too intensely personal for me to respond. Like someone tells me their loved one died.
I interpret it as "Yes, actually, I *am* autistic."
So what's the idea behind using the #ActuallyAutistic hashtag?
It feels unwelcoming to me. Like I shouldn't engage here if I'm not autistic enough. I'm second guessing my own experiences less by the day, but from what I've heard almost everyone with late diagnosis have felt gaslit and left out throughout their lives. With all the self doubt that entails, seeing people proclaiming they're *actually* autistic feels like yet another "you don't belong here".
