It's possible this is just me, and I read this at the wrong time, but...
Calling it selfish seems more than a little judgmental and negative. One of those words that leads to after-the-fact self-flagellation because we did it wrong, not the way NTs do it, we're terrible, awful people. That seems unnecessary.
Mine usually get to the pain point. 2-3 hours after the aura starts, I have to be curled up in a blacked-out room, hoping to die. This one left me with a mild headache for a couple of days, but I had ataxia and vertigo so bad I had to crawl from my car to the house, I couldn't stand up. If I'd been further away from home, I don't know what would have happened.
I only get migraines every couple of years, so I hope it doesn't happen often.
We had an earthquake today, in the middle of our hurricane, but what I'm wondering if any of us work at Google, making Android sounds.
I've never heard my phone do an emergency alert for earthquakes before. The amber alerts are evil - like the atonal ones they do over the air. The earthquake alert is a happy little chime. OK, a happy REALLY LOUD chime. But it's a chime, not a "OMG the world is ending!!!" sound. I kind of like it.
My month of medical drama started out like that, but ended with me in the ER and a lot of follow-up appointments. Both the neurologist and the ENT specialists have diagnosed it as a cochlear migraine. I'd had migraines all my life, but this was a new one for me.
After grilling lobster for my wife and grandsons, I made myself a gourmet grilled cheese (Iβll have lobster when I get home from work tonight) bourbon cured thick bacon, caramelized onion, GruyΓ¨re and cheddar cheese on thick cut milk bread. #WhataChefEats
I got an earthquake warning on my phone and felt the building sway in the middle of the storm.

@theautisticcoach @actuallyautistic I don't know that I ever properly processed grief from the loss of my relatives. I always saw to the logistics of what needed dealt with but the emotional side was always something very painful. I would open it up for brief periods, decide it was too much to deal with and box it back up. I'm realizing typing this out this is probably not healthy.
If by "process" you mean getting to the point it no longer affects me, I'll have to get back to you when that happens. Every dog I've ever had, every parrot, they're all still with me. Both the joys and the regrets.

San Francisco: Our dog Wily has escaped her sitter and we are trapped on a plane for the next 9 hours.
She was last spotted in the Castro, heading toward the Mission but she could be anywhere. She is very sweet but very timid.
If you see her: please do not approach, although she may be lured with treats.
