Yup, me too. But it has to be a song I know well, because if I can't remember the words that's just more frustration on top of what I'm already feeling.
@BootsChantilly @ScottSoCal GDI you guys beat me to the punch!
@ScottSoCal Right? A free "going over" from Mommie Dearest! π³
That "imagine YOU in the hands of Joan Crawford" can be a little sinister if you imagine her with a wire hanger.
Statistics Denmark recently published a graph which shows, what consumers have felt for a long time: Wages rise, but the real income is falling.
In 2022, consumer prices rose so much, Danes got 5.1 percent poorer, and even though some wholesale prices started to fall in 2023, price hikes still consumed all wage increases in 2023, leading to a real income rise of 0 percent.
I wonder if larger countries are doing better because of stronger retail competition.

No, not in the USA. Most people I know are calling it "greedflation". Wholesale costs are stable or down, retail costs are way up, corporate profits are breaking records.

I'm facing a garage re-organization and felt the same way yesterday. Too much mess, too many things. Can't we just burn it down a build a new garage?
Hubs bought some tool organizers and swept the floor, and now I'm fine. In a few minutes I'll go out and sort the tools and put them in neatly labeled organizers, then start arranging the shelves. Problem sorted.

I can't get over how fucking perfect the seeing conditions are right now. Crystal clear view of the sun.
I might have to bring my work laptop outside. Unbelievably nice outside.
My dogs and my parrot are my life. They're my support system, my confidantes, my unconditional love. This week I may have to make the end of life decision for one of the dogs. I'm handling it by - not handling it. The decision won't be here until it's here, if it gets here, and I'm not considering it until then. The other half is dealing with it by falling apart.
I know mine will be worse, if it comes to that, but it's better right now. Now is where I am. Now is where Little Miss is.
This is a good #MondayMotivation

What was I terrified of? The audience, screaming and hooting and whistling. I was the guy at the bar who played pool and didn't talk to people unless they wanted to play a table. My husband (the bartender where I played pool) flirted with me for 6 months before I had any idea he was interested. I have no game, my flirting circuit was never installed. That much attention freaked my shit right out.

Yes, but worse for some things than others.
I've taught various things at my work, for almost 20 years. They're subjects I know, I think they're important to know, and I can answer about any question that comes up. No sweat.
Twice I've been on stage for other things - once karaoke and once performance prop for a drag queen Empress, me wearing a g-string and baby oil. I was terrified both times.
So... me. Work in aerospace, more space, not as much aero. Can fix my own car, choose not to. Can fix the random appliance of your choice. Hardcore introvert in person, which is why I love online. Lifelong science fiction fan. Read constantly. Scalzi is my favorite author, because he mixes exactly the right amount of snark into his writing. Together with a guy 30+ years, married since it was legal. Own a home in CA and don't plan to leave unless I immigrate to another country.
