My opinion? You're looking for representation out there in the world.
I grew up in the 70s, in Utah, knowing I was gay. What I saw on TV and movies to represent me was damaged, broken, evil people. Not exactly aspirational. Things have improved since then, and in my gut I know it's important to see people like yourself.
No, it's not bad to look for representation.

He has opened the door to insurrection in America. Do not treat him like a fashion icon. He is a fascist icon.

I need someone to explain to me why Al Franken had to resign, but Matt Gaetz is still in Congress.

Explain it to me like I’m in kindergarten.

@wdlindsy

No, they won't, because whatever they do has to also pass the Senate. It won't. This is performative nonsense, and Mikey knows it.

@willaful

I tend to keep personal information (and I consider this personal) to myself, or share it only with a very small group. Telling someone else, in my experience, lets them feel free to offer their opinions. About me. Unsolicited. I'm uncomfortable with that.

A co-worker of mine is determined, in a friendly way, to force me into small talk. When I need to go see him about something he wants me to greet, ask customary questions (How are you?) Habit on his part is to protest by saying "We don't sleep together, so you can't just demand." He stopped saying that - or laughs after he says it - because I responded with "That's not my fault, you're the straight one."

Did you know that the first time terrorists used planes to attack Americans wasn’t on 9/11 or at Pearl Harbor? It was during the Tulsa Race Massacre of 1921 when white supremacists flew β€œa dozen planes to drop turpentine or nitroglycerin bombs & men shot from planes.”

103 years later, we must keep fighting for reparations for Tulsa Race Massacre survivors, and bring about meaningful racial justice in America.

What I'm getting from this is that you've never been in an airport. There's *always* a line at security. In the US, at Heathrow, at Munich airport, there's a line. Seen it with my own two eyes.

And I *am* a big Biden booster, because the alternative is Trump. There's not a single thing that would be better with Trump in office - everything important to me and the people I care about would be so much worse.

In his annual Pride declaration
President Joe Biden made a condemned bans on healthcare for transgender youth as antithetical to the basic American values of life, safety, and dignity.

Where did I hear about it first? Oh, just the Daily Wire.

Look, I'm not a big Biden booster, I'm particularly unhappy about the genocide support thing, but I do think we need to be willing to give credit/call attention to strong supportive statements by the US President!!

Feeding crows is better than feeding pigeons, because crows can remember and describe human faces, so the species may decide to spare you when the revolution comes

@geekysteven

I have crows that come knock on my office window, to let me know it's time for me to spread unsalted mixed nuts on the windowsill outside.

@Zumbador

What usually causes the friction in my house is when I have a strong preference against something, but can't articulate a reason why. I'm just not up for it right now. Maybe tomorrow, maybe next week, but not right now.

re: Same food talk

@ashleyspencer

I eat one meal a day - lunch. Breakfast is coffee/cream and a few handfuls of mixed unsalted nuts. Lunch is whatever dish I cooked that week. This week it's chicken fajita (chicken / peppers / onions / mushrooms, jalapeno cheese, no tortillas) with an orange and apples for dessert. Dinner is whatever fruit is left over from lunch. I'll eat this all week, and next week it'll be a different main course, but the same everything else.
