A group of scientists and officers find strange things happening on their new ship - the flagship of the fleet. No one wants to go on away missions with the bridge officers, because lower ranks always die in unusual ways. The laws of physics are broken, with no explanation. There's a weird, hairy guy hiding in the service tunnels. They have to travel back in time after kidnapping a bridge officer, to stop the senseless killing of their fellow officers.

Aida Rostami was a doctor who treated protesters until she was tortured and murdered by Iranian officials.

Dec 12, after taking care of several wounded protesters in Ekbatan, Aida left a protester’s house to get medical supplies and was never seen alive again. Officials told her family to pick up her tortured body a day later. Just like that.

She was 36.

This is the face of theocracy. We must all fight to keep religion out of our respective governments. Or else.

With Grimace, its milkshake brings them ALL to the yard

So it seems like having 1 egotistical man, who's convinced the world is conspiring against him & his personal vision of openness, & who opaquely subjects us to his random whims & personal dislikes, in charge of internationally important services, is probably a bad idea. Crazy.

Dear white friends: It's Black Friday when Black Mastodon celebrates its cultural heritage.

Follow the hashtag periodically today. I've already enjoyed music I haven't heard since I was a teenager; I've also seen some great artwork and bookmarked some reading material.

Expand your world with #BlackFriday every week. Boost Black and BIPOC voices as you do so.

And follow @BlackAzizAnansi who's made a great start increasing Mastodon's cultural diversity.

@ScottSoCal I completely get that. Especially living here in deep Red Texas. I always try to keep my work life and my social media life separate. Not only is it necessary for my mental health but my possible physical well-being as well.

This holiday season remember that the cancelled child tax creditβ€”which slashed childhood poverty by 30%β€”would've cost only $1.7T over the next decade, while the ever expanding Defense Budget will cost around $9T over the next decade.

Children are suffering and starving now because corporate bought politicians would rather by bombs than bread.

We can thank GOP & Manchin/Sinema for this cruelty and grotesquely misplaced priorities. A reminder that our standard must be justice above all else.

@QasimRashid And the Republican tax cuts for the wealthy will cost over $10T, while raising taxes on everyone else.

@CatScratchFeverIsReal
I surprise people who know me from work, if we ever start talking about things beyond work. At work I'm systematic, even rigidly inflexible. That's what I'm supposed to be.
Outside that - let your freak flag fly! I've borrowed heels from drag queens to dance in, I've been on stage in a thong and oil and nothing else, I've been auctioned off as part of a fundraiser.
All just part of being human, and alive.

Hi new followers!
Welcome to the other side!
Got any questions?

My mastadon link at my pinned tweet on Twitter is now warning anyone who clicks on it that the sight may be β€œunsafe.”
You know what actually feels unsafe right now? Musk on Twitter.

I’m glad we’re *maybe* giving Patriot missiles to Ukraine. But it’s not entirely clear to me how that helps Ukraine win this war. They need long-range missiles. Why aren’t we providing them, but Iran can?

8. Once I realized this, I shut up so Katie and Drew could ask him questions. Musk basically ignored the questions and kept repeating, "no doxxing" and "no special rules for journalists"

When Drew pressed him, he quickly bolted.

He does not like to be challenged or questioned.

Love letter to #Mastodon:
It’s weird how the brain (well, mine anyway) got so used to associating social media to doomscrolling, that coming here almost like a warm blanket on my brain.
I open this app and find incredibly smart, witty and empathetic folks who find each other by searching hashtags. What a concept!

@aravosis
The patriot missiles aren't for offense, they're for defense. By positioning them around at-risk cities, to stop Russian missile attacks, they can free up the missile embankments they have, and start using them for offense. The patriot missiles are also more effective, which will help there.
