Iβm an editor at Gannett. I manage 4 reporters and lead the investigative and data work at the Asbury Park Press in NJ.
This week, Iβm on mandatory furlough.
I appreciate the time with my family, but it is a truly horrid time of year to take away a portion of anyoneβs salary.
I make $70K a year. Iβm grateful for it. But Iβm a single dad with two kids. It hurts.
The employees of this company deserve better. At the very least, they deserve to be paid what the company agreed to pay them.

Terrifying to think that dropping migrants off in the freezing cold without necessary clothing, food, shelter, with no warning for local officials, on Christmas Eve, is the thing Republicans think they need to do to get ahead in their party.
