Really all I've been talking about here is access to the ECONOMIC status quo, because we're talking about the movement of "the majority" of a generation along political axes.
Lack of access to the social status quo (i.e. equality in all its guises) has been a driver away from conservatism for a lot longer. For those who experience it, and those who witness it.
The two often go hand in hand, but not always.

I have most of this, I'm a Boomer, and I've gotten much MORE liberal as I age.
But I'm also a gay man, so not supportive of the status quo. Your argument works, even for an old man like me.

Today is my sixth heartiversary! So far, so good! I have had a much easier time of it than many transplant patients. I've been very lucky from the moment I got accepted onto the waiting list, and I am very greatful to the medical team and to all my friends who have made this an easy journey so far. And grateful to everyone who is willing to be an organ donor!
The story of Greta Thunberg owning Andrew Tate and leading to his arrest is one of the most epic things of 2022. I enjoyed seeing that greedy kid's (SBF) fraudulent crypto fortune collapse on him, but this was much more enjoyable by several orders of magnitude.
