rbreich@masto.ai - Your feelings about Musk aside, this isn't something to celebrate. Our focus should be on fixing an economic system that allows one person to gain such massive wealth.
Despite losing more than the rest of us can even imagine, Musk is still the second richest person in the world.

"Is... Is it okay to be weird?"
The witch studied the young woman.
"No."
"No? I thought you'd understand."
"Don't be weird," the witch said. "Be yourself."
"But..."
"Now, some people may call that weird, but that's their word, not yours. Be yourself, however that is."

βThe floatovoltaic industry is poised to expand rapidly. Science and policy must move equally fast to ensure that this use of the worldβs reservoirs is sustainable & equitable.β
Some valuable insight to consider today as we fight to end fossil fuel use.
@MarkRuffalo
I have so many questions about that article.
"But for some projects, so much methane β a potent greenhouse gas β is released from decaying submerged plant matter that they can emit as much carbon per unit energy as do fossil-fuel power plants."
Yes, methane is a powerful greenhouse gas, but short-lived in the atmosphere. It breaks down relatively quickly.
Sunlight powers plant growth in the water, filtering pollutants. What are the effects of reducing plants?
I was just fired. If you know someone hiring staff level software engineers, preferably in a #sre, #devops, or #PlatformEngineering space, I'd love to talk.

I've given up. As malnutrition sets in and they're being served an eviction notice, they'll be glued to Tucker Carlson telling them it's all, somehow, Biden's fault - and by extension every Dem. And they'll believe it.
Finland ranked No. 1 of 41 European countries on resilience against misinformation for the fifth time in a row in a survey published in October by the Open Society Institute in Sofia, Bulgaria.
Officials say Finlandβs success is not just the result of its strong education system, which is one of the best in the world, but also because of a concerted effort to teach students about fake news. Media literacy is part of the national core curriculum starting in preschool.

The Fall of The Amazon Could Trigger a Global Cascade of Tipping Points
If the Amazon crosses a critical threshold of self-resilience, a new study suggests the disaster could set off a domino effect, knocking over tipping points elsewhere in the world, too, abruptly accelerating environmental crises and causing irreparable damage to the planet

OK, show of hands: how many started to read the lede and immediately wondered what was going on with Amazon's stock price.
Ukraine has become a "de facto" NATO member since Russia's invasion
Russia used the potential of #NATO expanding to #Ukraine as an pretense for its invasion
Their plan backfired, instead bringing it closer to the Western military alliance.
