Iβm kinda wishing Mastodon will eventually break the stranglehold Twitter seems to have on writers. Itβs almost like people are too afraid to give up, and lose their followers. I have a fraction of followers here, but still get more #Engagement. Anyway, rant over. On my server there's a really convenient option to remind me when I forget to caption a picture.
The volume of people telling vision-impaired users "fuck off, your engagement doesn't count" by skipping image descriptions is starting to get depressing again.
Please boost even if this isn't for you. On Mastodon, favoriting is not like 'liking' on the other site. All it does is it tell the writer you liked it, there is no algorithm.

2, and they're tied.
1) First month on the job at a bank processing center, I made the bank miss the nightly deposit, meaning they had to borrow money to cover outstanding transactions. It cost them about $35K.
2) First time in the cleanroom at current job, I'm trying to take pictures of a wafer and dropped the camera on the wafer, destroying it. Estimated cost about $100K.
Didn't get fired or even disciplined for either one. But learned.
