Today is one year since Russia illegally invaded Ukraine.

Few of us really knew much about Ukraine.

One thing we did know was that President Zelenskyy was blackmailed by donald trump.

Had Zelenskyy strayed from his morals, we easily be in the midst of donald’s second term now.

We would no longer be part of NATO, and I have no doubt donald would have sent American troops to help Russia topple Kyiv.

Our good fortune of having ousted donald from office is, in part, due to President Zelenskyy being a man of morals and courage.

Without aid from the USA, he knew Russia could annex Ukraine, and he did the right thing despite risking the annihilation of his nation.

That’s one of the reasons why I stand firmly in support of the aide we have given Ukraine.

We still have a chance to save our democracy, because Zelenskyy is a man of integrity. donald could not corrupt him.

That means something.

PSA: Before you defederate an entire instance due to Russian bots posting Nazi spam, check first to see if it's a Ukrainian instance and whether all the spam is from the last 24-48 hours or so. Russians are hijacking Ukrainian instances (sometimes during power outages) and posting Nazi spam to get these instances defederated. You can limit the instance and suspend individual accounts until the admins are able to clean up.

Today is the 3-year anniversary of the murder of Ahmaud Arbery, a black man who was lynched while jogging in Georgia. Although his killers were (eventually) convicted, that isn't justice as it doesn't bring him back to his family or take away the terror that such hate crimes cause all Black people to feel.
