#Newsom wants to transform #SanQuentin using Scandinavian model
βWhatβs envisioned for San Quentin is on a different scale. The choice of this #prison is a statement by Newsom about justice reform & about #California β w potential not only to change what it means to serve time, but also to create a pathway to safer communities that our current system has failed to deliverβ
Today I'm at work, so I'm in "Completely Normal And Respectable" drag.

Definitely not - there's a whole Thing about."Follow Fridays" where you suggest people to follow.
@drfunkybutt I donβt think itβs against mastodon etiquette to recommend people to follow.
All that youβre doing is telling people about another person whose content they may enjoy while simultaneously letting the content creator know that you like what theyβre doing.
It seems like a nice thing to do, as long as the intentions are genuine.

Oh, nothing to see here... Rosa Parks in one proposed FL social studies textbook reduced to a lady who "showed courage" and "rode the bus." With no mention of race or racism in the encounter. This is how fear is destroying public ed in FL. #EdScare Http://nyti.ms/3YUGFlj

I don't know when that was, but in the 1980s, when I bought my first house in the US, my mortgage interest rate was 16%, and I counted myself lucky.
Well, calling something what it is has been problematic.
FWIW, he was spot-on. It was propaganda.
I'm sure I've read the first one - yes, just checked, and it's on my Kindle. I didn't know it was a series. I'll have to look at the rest of them.
@ScottSoCal another book series that really understands the media, PR and behind the scenes machinations for big alien questions is the Not Alone series by Craig Falconer.

And her definition of what it means is wrong in some foundational assumptions.
Neo-nazis (yes, with an actual Nazi flag) brought guns to a drag show. The local sherriff's office cited the bar for serving one underage person, stalked performers to their homes, and is now evicting the bar. They were fine with the armed Nazis.
I just deleted my bird account. I am equal parts sad for what Iβve left behind and excited for what lies ahead.

So... me. Work in aerospace, more space, not as much aero. Can fix my own car, choose not to. Can fix the random appliance of your choice. Hardcore introvert in person, which is why I love online. Lifelong science fiction fan. Read constantly. Scalzi is my favorite author, because he mixes exactly the right amount of snark into his writing. Together with a guy 30+ years, married since it was legal. Own a home in CA and don't plan to leave unless I immigrate to another country.
