So... me. Work in aerospace, more space, not as much aero. Can fix my own car, choose not to. Can fix the random appliance of your choice. Hardcore introvert in person, which is why I love online. Lifelong science fiction fan. Read constantly. Scalzi is my favorite author, because he mixes exactly the right amount of snark into his writing. Together with a guy 30+ years, married since it was legal. Own a home in CA and don't plan to leave unless I immigrate to another country.

Frightening: Global warming is causing tornados in California. This alert was issued for Valley Center, CA. Hopefully it didn't touch down:

Rhonda should be mocked. Mercilessly.
Never thought Iโd ever see this many snowflakes in Florida.

Today I gave the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, @CinC_AFU, a box of matzah & wished him & all the brave defenders of ๐บ๐ฆ a happy Passover.
May we all be sitting around a table next year together, celebrating a free and united #Ukraine! ๐

@TheConversationUS @gbhnews We're hosting #Newstodon Friday tomorrow, let's make it a party! Refreshments on us!
All of my friends are rolling up to the party in their sexy Halloween costumes and Iโm floating in looking like Orko.
The last dog I had to let go spent her last 4 days in an emergency clinic, hooked up to an oxygen tank, while I accepted that nothing could be done to correct a collapsed trachea. But I held her while she got her shot, and everyone in the clinic stopped by to grieve with me. They were extraordinary. I remember every one of them.
Thought I saw Jesus in my mango smoothie. Blended for a minute longer and it turned into Meryl Streep. She is so versatile.
And I've always thought it should be "couldn't care less". If you could care less, you care to some degree.
Many artists post their art here. This one came from @MarkOnArt
I've also bought a piece of jewelry that I won't wear, but will use for home decor from @skaly and a print of a photograph that I'm waiting to be delivered.
Am looking for artists. Want something nice to fill my walls with, and support struggling artists at the same time! Boost please!
russia will lead the United Nations Security Council in April
The Presidency of the United Nations Security Council rotates on a monthly basis between 15 member states.
Ukraine's Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba called the move a "bad joke" and said that the world "can't be a safe place" with russia as head of the #UN Security Council

All Disney did was maintain the control they've always had, until Rhonda's political stunt. They used to appoint all the people on that board, so they de facto controlled it.

So I didn't have to spray paint myself with a faux stone texture and sit in the lotus position in front of a Ukraine-themed backdrop for my avatar picture? I could have just made it up? Now you tell me.
I'm not sure who needs to hear this but you don't owe anyone on the internet your real name or a profile image that's a real photo of you.

Thereโs an awful lot of violence, slavery, misogyny, and murder in the Bible. Maybe we should ban that book?
Journalism is maximally profitable when it is maximally useless.
The stories that are the easiest to sell ads against are the ones that are relevant to the most people. The stories that are the most useful to any given person are likely *not useful* to people outside their community.
I don't need National news, excepting in very rare circumstances.
I need local news, which is only covered in very rare circumstances.
Sure! It's good for me to know what's happening in US or Global politics, but what happened at last night's school board meeting or city council or county commissioner's meetings has way more Impact on my life.
