I consider myself lucky that I stumbled across my perfect niche. I work in an engineering capacity, in aerospace, where precision, process, and documentation are *everything*. It's like they created a role, just for me.

@ScottSoCal @Bette @actuallyautistic very similar here although now I'm retired I have space to try letting go of those and am using them less.

I'm proudly supporting President Biden for reelection.

He is the clear leader for this moment, and his record over the first two years of his presidency is extraordinary.

I'll be doing everything I can to keep him and Vice President Harris in the White House to finish the job.

A post about routines is what flagged for me. For nearly everything in my life, there's a process, there are steps, they have to be done in order or things go wrong. I live on checklists, timers, and alarms.

@ScottSoCal Ohhh, Ashley C.

I once read a review where they complained that the chicken Caesar salad had too much chicken. If only there were an easy solution to remedy such a problem.

@Alice

I may or may not be the one who started this review as a rebuttal to Ashley.

"First, if you read Ashley Cope's review, be aware this isn't a Volkswagen dealership. Clearly, she was drunk or confused. It's a repair shop."

We need a comment section on Yelp because the customer is not always right and Barb M. needs to know.

Many of the posts here have mentioned things that ring with me.

Does anyone mind if I lurk, read, and learn more?

And sorry for the two posts, my instance has a small character limit per post.

Am I @actuallyautistic ? I don't know. I've never considered it until I started reading some of the posts here. I know almost nothing about autism.
I've called myself "socially awkward", and "introvert". Other people have called me "unaware", "difficult", "intense", "hyper-focused".
People often confuse me, I have no idea why they do what they do. I'm good with animals. Animals don't conceal, or evade, or lie. I'm good with machines. They work or they don't.

Good morning to readers. Kyiv remains in Ukrainian hands.

Some career news: I’m leaving NPR as part of the layoffs that dramatically reduced the company’s workforce.

I’ve decided to go back into Ukraine to keep reporting.

But this time, alone.

My husband gifted me this special paintbrush I can use on my I-pad. It works almost like one but does not give me the fine control I like when I paint. Yet I love how my stroke came out on this pink heart.

@QasimRashid

I'm not a parent, and I'd be afraid to let my parrot learn science - she runs the house as it is, if she knew how to science, she'd run the world.
But boosted, for sure.

@Adam_Cadmon1@mastodon.online

Some people are tactile learners - we learn best by doing. I'm one of them. I can't even have someone read to me, my mind wanders and I can't retain it. Let me do it myself.
But I had a great science teacher who recognized that and let me do, with oversight.
