I don't know what the squirrels in my back yard are up to *exactly* but I feel like I'm the one who's going to wind up in jail for it.

"By the morning, all the debris had been swept away, with Kyiv Zoo opening to visitors. The animals will be monitored over the coming days and if necessary given anti-depressants in their water. In the meantime they would get extra apples and nuts.

One mother had taken her son to see the chimpanzees. β€œHe’s 11 today. Last night’s attack was terrible. But I promised to take him to the zoo and a promise is a promise,” she said, as a monkey swung from a branch."

The effort to go after Hunter Biden is to undercut the actual corruption of Tweedle-dee, Tweedle-dumber, and Iskanka.

As predicted, CNN’s Trump townhall was a big mistake and they got fourth in the ratings two days after the event; losing to Newsmax.

As it turns out, feeding your audience shit and telling them it’s caviar isn’t a great business model. While I don’t think ratings should be a goal for news orgs, it’s hilarious that they blew that too.

And the joke is that they’re the ones trapped in a silo, unaware that we hear from #Trump every damn day so their event wasn’t special.

@ScottSoCal @GottaLaff I graduated Catholic HS in '99. Lowest 5% of my class. Hated school bc it never made sense to me. I received Classical Ed. It was horrible. Not until college in Hawaii did I fall in love with learning, so much so, I made it my career. #DietDonald doesn't get that America fell behind with classical Ed and education is not a one size fits all system. We want free thinkers who critically analyze subjects with facts and research. The kids of Florida are in trouble.

I’m on my third day sick in bed, and I’m gonna need y’all to post to Mastodon more, blog more, and generally make more internet, because I’ve just about used up what’s here.

As a poet, author, and lecturer, Baltimore, Maryland–born Frances Ellen Watkins Harper (1825-1911) was a household name in the 19th century. Not only was she the first Black American woman to publish a short story, but she was also an influential abolitionist, suffragist, and reformer that co-founded the National Association of Colored Women’s Clubs.

@MOyster @GottaLaff

I think he's talking about the education I got in the 1970s, in Utah.
Slavery was probably pretty bad, at times, but we won't dwell on that. Manifest destiny was critical to the nation, hooray. Saving the heathens was a universal good.
US History skipped whole chapters, because the teacher just didn't see the point.

@ScottSoCal @GottaLaff As a teacher, I see his attack on education as shameful. He is taking the STUDENTS' RIGHTS to free and fair education. I don't even know what he means by CLASSICAL ED? It's truly a step back and the people of Florida need to understand the attack. He wants to disband the teachers union. So dangerous! Parents don't have Rights in FL. He is narrowing the parental rights by allowing singular challenges to ed. One parent makes the choice for a while school body? Unamerican

@ScottSoCal One of the themes of his campaign was "speak whatever language you want, we're all Ukrainians." His opponent was... not quite as bad as Trump, but like the "ENGLISH ONLY!!!' cretins we have here. If you're in SoCal you can imagine the kind of assholery it would take to ban Spanish or tell people who grew up speaking Spanish that they're not real Americans. Not a perfect analogy but it's a heated issue there. Less so now as many people have stopped speaking russian of their own accord.
