I like how you always initiate debates between autistic people. It's so good to read how others experience things.

Also I agree with you on not putting us into different boxes, bit sticking together and speaking out for one another.

So, some of you are observing that my posts are really dumb.

Yes, but they pale in comparison to some of my life choices.

Ron De Fascist wants to be Adolf so bad. The sad thing is, some people are waiting until he DOES the heinous things Adolf did before they wake up and sayβ€”β€œDAMNβ€”this guy is Adolf!”

Please don’t wait til thenβ€”NOW is the time to raise your voice. VOTE.

NEVER AGAIN! means something

Not ADHD, as far as I know, but enjoy untying knots. Except when it's the knot on my PJ bottoms, and I really, really have to pee, and the knot is tangled up. That isn't a fun knot at all.

Saddened hugely by the news of Russ Nicholson's death. He was one of the artists who shaped the look of UK fantasy in the 80s and 90s, with a style that's instantly recognisable and unique. He did amazing work for Hogshead's Warhammer FRP line and was a delight to deal with.

I write much better than I speak, by the way. I'm the king of e-mails and powerpoint, but in person I've been described as "intense".

@Sci_Fi_FanGirl @actuallyautistic

It's not about the label, it's about the behavior. They know I'm a pain in the ass to work with. They know I don't respect titles, position, or salary. They know I won't hesitate to tell them they're wrong, when they are.
I'm "not a team player", and I don't "communicate effectively". Just look at any of my performance reviews. But I do get the job done, well enough that I've out-lasted just about everyone who had a real problem with me.

OK, I'd never heard of hyperlexia, but yeah, that's me. I was reading more than a year before kindergarten, usually the newspaper, because we didn't have a lot of books in my house.

@Sci_Fi_FanGirl @actuallyautistic

I work in a highly technical field, and I frequently joke that there are more PhDs per square foot at my company than in a hospital. My situation would be very similar.

Okay, I confess: I've started watching #TheGoodDoctor out of curiosity.

Now, I need to talk about it with the @actuallyautistic people, but I'm also interested in non-autistic impressions.

Of course there's the question of representation. #seanmurphy is the stereotypical savant autistic. But there are people like him, right? To me, that's fine.

Then there's a lot of prejudice. To me, it seems a bit exaggerated. If he has succeeded in studying medicine, why are they so concerned?

"Then there's a lot of prejudice. To me, it seems a bit exaggerated."

I've watched it since the beginning, and I'd say if they're not accurate on the prejudice, they're down-playing it. I think IRL it would be much worse than what they've shown.

Last spring we had ravens nesting nearby. They are loud! They didn't nest here this year but they're still around, often calling to each other. Here's my tribute to this intelligent bird - I have added a quilted effect to my #artwork to give it a 3D look.

I correspond to Level 1 on that, but my "support" is rigid routine. I've worked out systems that ensure everything is done by following a script. If I get interrupted or things happen out of order, it all falls apart.

I wasn't diagnosed originally with any of these, but Aspergers Syndrome. Only years later when I had to be diagnosed AGAIN in a different country from where I was born post DSM-5 did I receive this diagnosis of Level 2. Which is ironic, of course, in that people often equate "aspergers' with "level 1".

Listening to NT β€œautism experts” speaking about things like unmasking, making boundaries, and advocacy is like listening to Jerry Falwell talk about reproductive rights or Enoch Powell speaking about race relations.
