I don't mind waiting in line, but I refuse to use self-checkout. It's just an excuse for companies to not hire cashiers and make more profit.
You want me to check out my own purchases? Hire me, and give me a paycheck. At least give me a discount.
How do my #ActuallyAutistic comrades feel about queuing?
I had an electrician come in and install the outlet, all I have to do is install the bracket and plug it in.
Plan B is 3/4" plywood screwed into the studs on either side of the power panel, and then 1" wood screws to hold the bracket in place. That avoids the whole "drilling into the power panel" unpleasantness.
@ScottSoCal I called an electrician even though my DIY self knew I could do it. Wasnβt too costly and if something goes wrong I have some else to blame.
I'm mounting an EV charger in the garage. I had it marked, measured, leveled, the drill in hand and ready to go through the wall. Just before I pulled the trigger I mentally went through everything one last time.
Oh, wait. Yeah. That spot, just above the plug the electrician installed? That's where the main electrical panel for the house sits. Yeah, drilling through the wall there may not be the best path for continued health. Time for Plan B.
Please tell people about this, it really helps me out!

I don't know if this is a trauma thing, or an autism thing, but as I've gotten older (and it's harder to pretend) tears are a lot closer to the surface than they used to be. Sad tears, happy tears, overwhelmed tears. They just pop up, out of nowhere, and I'm left with red eyes and a runny nose.

I'm the guy at the snack table, glaring at the chips so no one will approach me. Or, worse, try to talk to me.

Unless you have a light-year round body, which would be very different.
So... me. Work in aerospace, more space, not as much aero. Can fix my own car, choose not to. Can fix the random appliance of your choice. Hardcore introvert in person, which is why I love online. Lifelong science fiction fan. Read constantly. Scalzi is my favorite author, because he mixes exactly the right amount of snark into his writing. Together with a guy 30+ years, married since it was legal. Own a home in CA and don't plan to leave unless I immigrate to another country.
