It makes complete sense, to me. Remote they get small snippets of me, through e-mail (which I can re-read, edit, and re-write as many times as I need before I send) or when I'm being "presentable" in remote meetings, but can relax the rest of the time. They see what I do, not who/what I am, and I'm not overwhelmed trying to figure out what they really meant when they said...

@dukeoffailure @actuallyautistic I’ve worked in office with teammates who I just barely got along with, and at home for the past 3 years. I, weirdly, feel more like I’m connected to my team when I’m not forced to be physically there with them. If that makes sense.

@Teri_Kanefield

There is a third possible option:

3) We've paid attention, saw him try to overthrow the government of our country on nationally broadcast TV, and are willing to accept the "alleged" crap until the trial is over, because that's how these things work, but know damned well what he did, and are waiting for accountability.

I made a big step today towards something I don’t really want but I’m so panicked about my life that I had to do SOMETHING.

OK last announcement.

If you live in *Ohio* you should have voted "no" by now. But, if you haven't you still have till the end of Aug 8th! Time to search up your poll site and get going!

(But, don't feel bad if this referendum caught you off guard, Ohio Republicans are hoping no one will show up to vote.)

Vote NO on issue 1. It's a strange constitutional amendment that changes the threshold to make it possible for a small group to veto everything. It's the only thing on the ballot.

The FBI reopened its case briefly against Hillary over her emails just weeks before the election, and Trump didn’t call it β€œELECTION INTERFERENCE.”

You both realize this started with a misunderstanding, and everything since could have been avoided by just asking for a clarification, right?

I'll relay a story a friend of mine just told me.
She was at the store and noticed security had detained a person. They were going through a backpack and acussing the person of stealing cans of food. My friend went up to them and pretended to know the person. She then said "I was going to pay for these items, I must've forgot, let's go pay for them now" security reluctantly allowed her to pay for the persons items and let him go.
$22.00, was the cost to feed someone and keep them out of jail.

@ScottSoCal
So true! I recently ran low on kitty kibble so decided to sub in a few doggy nuggets. They were gone before the actual cat stuff!

@MKSinSA

We've always lived with multiple animals in the house, and they all had the same rule:
"Whatever that other one is getting is obviously better than the garbage you're trying to foist off on me."

Well, yup, it's #Caturday and Kitty Kaze, AKA Kazmanian Devil, is determined to share #DogsOfMastodon Pauncho's water bowl despite me setting up a cute station just for her. Pauncho says, It's all good.

I don’t understand how COVID is spiking again after we’ve tried everything from pretending it’s over to pretending it never happened

@actuallyautistic

Autism can be messed up.
Medical drama for the last month, and the ER doctor filed a report with the DMV that got my license suspended, pending medical review. Many, many doctor appointments later, with multiple specialists, and today I got the letter that my license is now reinstated.
For a month I've been stressing about not being able to drive or go into the office. Now I'm stressing about going back into the office.

If The Good Place characters were social media websites.

@StillIRise1963 I guess we need to start developing a remedial college curriculum something like "reality for Floridians"

My favourite paradox:
If you ask Rick Astley for his copy of the movie Up, he cannot give it to you as he will never give you up. However, in doing so he lets you down. Thus creating the Astley Paradox
