Here's an agreement that favors all:
Russia ends its invasion of Ukraine and completely withdraws from Donetsk, Luhansk, and the Crimea.
It returns the Ukrainians it kidnapped, especially the children.
It hands its war criminals over for trial.
And it pays reparations for the damage it has inflicted on civilian lives and infrastructure.
That's the best-case scenario for Russia.
If it chooses not to accept this very generous offer... the Russian federation will soon defederate.
You can donate directly to the defense of Ukraine:
It's tax-deductible in the US, too.
For every boost this post gets, I'll add a buck to my next donation.
In response to a post in which I said that russia is committing genocide in Ukraine, @ViviannaVanGogh asks me the following question. I would be pleased to oblige her with an explanation.
@ViviannaVanGogh We will return to the question of intent shortly, but let's start with the following observation: russia has committed ALL FIVE of the named offenses in the genocide convention on a large scale.
@ViviannaVanGogh "(c) Deliberately inflicting on the group conditions of life calculated to bring about its
physical destruction in whole or in part;"
I have one word for anyone who doubts this: "Mariupol."
A quick history lesson illustrating just how far detached from reality & humanity Taliban terrorists really are:
β’In 610 Prophet Muhammad (sa) declared βEducation is obligatory for every Muslim male & female.β
β’In 859 Princess Fatima al-Fihri founded al-Qarawiyyin, the world's oldest existing university.
β’In 2022 after promising to protect womenβs rights, Taliban terrorists ban women from education.
See the problem? Taliban are enemies of humanity. May their reign of terror come to a swift end.
@ViviannaVanGogh "(d) Imposing measures intended to prevent births within the group;" Sexual violence against Ukrainian women has been pervasive since the full-scale invasion began.
russia might argue that its systematic rapes have not been intended to prevent Ukrainian births---and that this particular provision, which I believe refers to forced sterilizations---technically does not apply. Some scholars have argued otherwise, however, and the UN Security Council has actually weighed in.

@pipistrelle @therobburgessshow Ditto. Also I donβt boost any twitter or #SpaceKaren links, news, etc. The sooner the bird site sinks into oblivion, the better.
Putin is now saying he wants to "end the war". He's destroyed Ukraine's infrastructure, he's killed hundreds of thousands, Russian troops have raped, murdered and kidnapped civilians and disbursed them in camps in the eastern portions of Russia, but Putin thinks it's time to let bygones be bygones and just hug it out.
Yeah. No.
An @AP team left the city of Mariupol as Russian forces were closing in.
They were the last international journalists in the city before its capture. https://apnews.com/article/russia-ukraine-europe-edf7240a9d990e7e3e32f82ca351dede
