Imagine celebrating a whole-ass holiday about how the founder of your religion was born in a barn because his parents were fleeing and spending it... treating the people who have fled to your country like this

@ScottSoCal I would have never believed the utter rot of our system by corporations and an entire corrupt political party. The Framers never conceived of a political party so craven and corrupt that theyβd elevate a blathering criminal such as Trump to the highest office in the land. Nope. Never.
My wife & I donβt do Christmas gifts (why would we when we can just buy whatever we need or want during the year). But this year I came out to find a bunch of presents for me. When I said we arenβt supposed to get presents for each other, she said βOlivia hasnβt gotten a lot of presents. I thought she should get some things.β I really am so lucky sometimes π
How can anyone say with a straight face that climate change is a hoax?

When I began using the bird site in 2008, retweets had to be done manually by copying and pasting the text of someone's post into your own post. The retweet button came along the following year. Built-in quote tweet functionality didn't arrive until 2015. The history of both features is worth knowing about as users here on Mastodon debate the upsides and downsides that eventually resulted from them. https://www.buzzfeednews.com/article/alexkantrowitz/how-the-retweet-ruined-the-internet
So... me. Work in aerospace, more space, not as much aero. Can fix my own car, choose not to. Can fix the random appliance of your choice. Hardcore introvert in person, which is why I love online. Lifelong science fiction fan. Read constantly. Scalzi is my favorite author, because he mixes exactly the right amount of snark into his writing. Together with a guy 30+ years, married since it was legal. Own a home in CA and don't plan to leave unless I immigrate to another country.
