Yesterday I had a rather unpleasant shopping experience as a #trans woman. I was at a consignment store.

A woman grumbled at me for existing near her. We were both looking at office supplies.

An Englishman (in conversation with an employee about how cool the monarchy is) abruptly halted his conversation and stared at me any time I was near. This happened 3x.

The icing on the proverbial cake was when an employee took a picture of me while I was at the checkout. Wherever that photo goes, it reduces my safety.

I'm ok and have adequate support systems to cope with it. But that's not every trans person's experience, and I worry about my trans siblings. Arm yourselves, my siblings. I carry a simple force multiplyer tool, do what makes sense for you. Anything is better than nothing at all.

Be extra kind to your trans friends, and do what it takes to shut up your local transphobes. ✌️

ICYMI: NYT just added a wildly anti-trans columnist to its roster... while still employing precisely 0 trans columnists. πŸ€¦πŸ»β€β™€οΈ readtpa.com/p/david-french-nyt

Always. Every goddamn time. It's like they're advertising the truth about themselves when they start LGBTQ-bashing.

Yes it took me 33 years to realize I'm trans but it also took me 20+ years to realize that nobody outside my family pronounces "sherbet" like it's spelled "sherbret" so maybe it just takes me time to figure stuff out

If you ever see me at the grocery store handling kale, guaranteed it's just to get my fingers wet to open a plastic bag for something else.

Hey Mastodon! I need your help.

This is my favorite teapot. As you can see there is a problem with the handle. The straw ring on the right is frayed and near breaking. Where do I get a new one and how do I go about replacing it?

Please boost so I can find a solution!

An Alzheimer's drug just received accelerated approval from the FDA

This is awesome.

Lecanemab, a monoclonal antibody, is *not a cure* but works by binding to amyloid beta, a hallmark of Alzheimer’s disease

It’s treating some effects of Alzheimer’s–not early mechanisms. However, this will buy patients time so it’s absolutely a cause to celebrate πŸŽ‰

@AlyAlyOutnFree Hello! I go by April or Kirby and use she/her pronouns. I like baking and improv and sketch comedy. I can write official looking documents for you. I really once said "These acquisition regulations are actually kind of interesting when you get into them."

And I really started getting into selfies about 9.5 months ago for some reason πŸ€”

@AlyAlyOutnFree Hi Alyssa, I am Joanne (she/her). A random thing about me is that I enjoy photography and I recently started infrared photography with full spectrum converted cameras. Perhaps I will post some in the future.

I don't have to count candy if it's from a different country right?
