I've lost count of the number of times I've trudged up the hills, sat waiting in the cold breeze and rain, and seen almost nothing.

Today was different. The golden eagle had read my mind, seen what I had imagined might happen, and kindly followed the script.

I spotted it perched on a ridge in the distance, and it took flight, heading towards me, then drifting by, below, lit up by the winter sunshine.

Magic. 😎

I find it odd & a bit annoying to see snippets of peoples' conversations show up in my feed. The random "I agree" or "I think the first more so than the second" are confusing. Now I realize -- through seeing how others do it, that it is an easily fixable situation.
When responding to posts or having a back and forth with the OP, change the post privacy to either 'followers only' or 'mentioned only' & I won't burden others with my random & untethered thoughts in their feed. #learning #feditips

My awesome wife is an #NHS nurse.

Tonight she was an hour late coming home at the end of her 13 hour shift, because there was nobody to hand over to.

She was looking after 8 patients today. That’s 7.5 minutes per patient per hour.

For £16.84 per hour.

This is normal - having got gradually worse over the past years. It’s breaking her spirit and ultimately putting patients at risk.

Ok, this is cool: a team of biologists worked out that turtles can talk. The hatchlings even talk to each other in the egg to coordinate their hatching. Turtle talk is at frequencies not very audible for humans and it can take hours for some species to reply to each other.

“Had we had a bit more expansive imaginations, we might have caught this earlier,” said Karen Bakker, a fellow at Harvard’s Radcliffe Institute for Advanced Study.

Last night, with guidance from https://transit-finder.com/, I positioned myself along the narrow line where the International #SpaceStation would pass between me and the nearly full moon.

I used a Fujifilm X-T4 shooting 4K video through a Celestron 8” SCT to capture the pass. Then, back at the computer this morning, put together these views with PIPP, Registax, and GIMP.

Quite pleased. My best yet.
