Julian Khater, the man who assaulted United States Capitol Police Officer Brian Sicknick with pepper spray on January 6, 2021, was just sentenced to 80 months — nearly 7 years — behind bars. Officer Sicknick died the following day. Sicknick's mother, Gladys, told the insurrectionist, "You attacked my son like he was an animal. You are the animal, Mr. Khater. How does it feel to be headed to jail because of a bald-faced lie?"

Just having a conversation about banned books. I have mixed feelings about Flannery OConnor. Mostly negative. I appreciate her story craft, but yikes. Racist TBH, even for that time. And then i have to put “even for that time” in there. I mean … But I *wouldn’t ban her books. I’m glad I got to read her stories and form my own opinion. #books
