This is one for those of you who are trauma-centered like me.
My wife just came home really angry at something from work. Like REALLY angry. Straight to yelling at me and the kids. Yelling about how the house is messy and makes her sick. etc.
Normally I internalize this as my fault. My mom was bipolar and borderline and everything was my fault and I was responsible for my little sister's safety. So usually when this happens, I get really hot and make the kids clean and do all the things to try to make her happy, and I end up getting stressed at the kids because they're not cleaning fast enough, and it's all badness.
But not today!
I said "Okay, you need to go out of the house and do something. Go eat, go to the gym, whatever. You need to go take care of yourself. I will make dinner and clean with the kids but this went straight to darkness and we don't need that."
And she looked at me like I was crazy.
And then went to the gym.
I'm extremely proud of myself right now. I have never done that before.
Iβm working on my cover letter and need some advice.
So far Iβve got:
I have over ten years of experience in auditing, analytics, and reporting and Iβm perpetually crippled by a ridiculously strong work ethic and extremely obnoxious attention to detail, so I will work my ass off and I will not fuck shit up.

So, my question is, I know ten should be spelled out, but I feel like 10 looks better from a visual and impactful perspective, so would that still be appropriate in this case?
AOC was on fire yesterday as she angrily called out the real reason her GOP colleagues voted to remove Ilhan Omar from the Foreign Affairs Committee.
Her epic takedown of their shameful vote is a must-watch: https://www.comicsands.com/aoc-omar-removed-from-committee-2659369599.html?utm_source=mastodon&utm_medium=toot&utm_campaign=sand

My 75 year old mother in law recommended watching #Wednesday on Netflix...I respect the opinions of this retired RE and history teacher and yet again her son and I were not disappointed! It was a brilliantly acted series - both the young and more established members of the cast were spot on in getting the #AddamsFamily vibe. It also felt very 90βs...which makes me feel old, but happy!
Parents need to pay attention to that gaming-Twitch-Alpha male podcast/incel-Holocaust denier-far right pipeline.
I'm not kidding.
Because that's where the radicalization of young boys happening.
@ScottSoCal unfortunately, when you look back you see a lot of subtle transphobia (and also just shaming on appearances, especially weight) in the books? Like Rita Skeeter was always described as looking masculine and having βmannish handsβ for example. Her characterization of lycanthropy in her words as an HIV allegory too, especially as Lupin was the exception to werewolves who generally side with Voldemort, and Fenrir who βconvertsβ children. π¬
So... me. Work in aerospace, more space, not as much aero. Can fix my own car, choose not to. Can fix the random appliance of your choice. Hardcore introvert in person, which is why I love online. Lifelong science fiction fan. Read constantly. Scalzi is my favorite author, because he mixes exactly the right amount of snark into his writing. Together with a guy 30+ years, married since it was legal. Own a home in CA and don't plan to leave unless I immigrate to another country.
