@ScottSoCal yep! And yet, look at it flourish in Summer. I need to take some inspiration from the bendy tree :)
In 2021, my house used an average of 23.4KWh of electricity per day. Last October I installed a 10KW solar setup on my house, and I'm planning to switch out natural gas water heater and furnace to heat pumps that use electricity. The days are still short, and I'm not producing as much as I will in the summer, but yesterday - WOOHOO!
#AltText a meme. At the top is text βmy work here is doneβ
In the picture a light red cat is stretched out over a concrete sidewalk, next to them is a collection of cat paw prints indented into the concrete.
Talking to friends in Austin who are enduring yet another large-scale catastrophic infrastructure failure, and Iβm wondering if any of the shitbird VCs who were encouraging everyone to move to Texas have yet noted that the policy regime theyβre so fond of is harming so many people, so consistently.
This is one for those of you who are trauma-centered like me.
My wife just came home really angry at something from work. Like REALLY angry. Straight to yelling at me and the kids. Yelling about how the house is messy and makes her sick. etc.
Normally I internalize this as my fault. My mom was bipolar and borderline and everything was my fault and I was responsible for my little sister's safety. So usually when this happens, I get really hot and make the kids clean and do all the things to try to make her happy, and I end up getting stressed at the kids because they're not cleaning fast enough, and it's all badness.
But not today!
I said "Okay, you need to go out of the house and do something. Go eat, go to the gym, whatever. You need to go take care of yourself. I will make dinner and clean with the kids but this went straight to darkness and we don't need that."
And she looked at me like I was crazy.
And then went to the gym.
I'm extremely proud of myself right now. I have never done that before.
Iβm working on my cover letter and need some advice.
So far Iβve got:
I have over ten years of experience in auditing, analytics, and reporting and Iβm perpetually crippled by a ridiculously strong work ethic and extremely obnoxious attention to detail, so I will work my ass off and I will not fuck shit up.

So, my question is, I know ten should be spelled out, but I feel like 10 looks better from a visual and impactful perspective, so would that still be appropriate in this case?
AOC was on fire yesterday as she angrily called out the real reason her GOP colleagues voted to remove Ilhan Omar from the Foreign Affairs Committee.
Her epic takedown of their shameful vote is a must-watch: https://www.comicsands.com/aoc-omar-removed-from-committee-2659369599.html?utm_source=mastodon&utm_medium=toot&utm_campaign=sand
