Lol...well, I could go all Pollyanna and say look on the bright side.
Seeing the Oroville Reservoir go from practically dust to overflowing in the span of a few months is very very very good.
The opening of the gates is, actually kinda cool to watch.
We can use our bodies to calm ourselves.

Breathe in deeply for 4 seconds.
Hold for 4 seconds.
Breathe out 4 for seconds.
Hold for 4 seconds.
Repeat as needed.
That's called box breathing. π¦
It's been helping me with my #anxiety and getting me more into my body rather than in my head doing the ol overthinkeroo

Red Squirrels Boycott BBC over Attenborough Censorship
Reports are appearing in the Hundred Acre Wood media that red squirrels are refusing to appear in any more BBC wild life documentaries in response to an episode of David Attenborough's latest series The Wild Isles being dropped.
Leader Squirrel Nutkin said "F**k the Tory b*****ds."

After she finished my screening, the blood bank technician asked, "Can I tell you something?" I nodded. She said, "I wanted to thank you personally for donating today. I have a disease where I need an infusion of red blood cells every three weeks. I've been getting infusions since I was three. You and I are the same type. I may get your blood one day and that will keep me alive." What do you say to that? Yow. Consider donating if you can, folks. #DonateBlood #SaveLives
depressing Ukraine thoughts
I haven't really accepted how long this war is likely to go on without significantly more Western help. I cannot imagine the burden on Zelenskyy's psyche, and all other Ukrainians. Even if it ended today, there are years of demining, rebuilding, etc., and it's not as if their economy was good before. They WILL win. I have ZERO doubt about that. But the thought of this suffering going on for years is just emotionally crushing. I'm committed to doing whatever I can for as long as it takes.
Really wish I knew of a queer space around South Minneapolis (which doesn't have to be in Minneapolis or even radical) to hangout at. Doesn't anybody know? I'm not talking about a bar, please. Feeling incredibly isolated. One person I talked to yesterday traveled like 30 miles to the rally in South Minneapolis. Cant imagine being so far away like that. Another person who spoke at the rally said the small town they live in isn't really a nice place for trans folx. I need to find community because I am ostracized by locals. All these people on "Minneapolis twitter" most definitely think I'm a cis person among other things and this drives me fucking crazy btw. I'm not going to be clarifying to others about my identity like that when it's my privacy.
I don't really expect a response but boosts are okay.
So I missed the #introduction thing before, so I really should do it now that this is live.
Hi, I'm Mike. I'm a dad, a husband, an enormous soccer nerd, and very very Canadian.
I've been working on Mozilla projects since 2003 and an employee since 2005. I built the original Firefox and Services engineering teams from scratch, then did some tours in BD and Product to learn new things. Lately I've been working on building out our #Fediverse effort with a crew of smart folks.
Keyboardio doesn't have a corporate fediverse account yet, so I'm posting this from my personal account:
We're fine, but, uh, our bank failed this morning.
We're using that as a pretext to hold a giant 72 hour sale on keyboards, caps, switches, & accessories.
Use discount code BANKRUN for 20% off everything we sell at https://shop.keyboard.io.
That includes the Model 100, Atreus, keycaps, and switches.
