I ordered one of these in 2018. It never arrived. Now every year this shows up in my FB feed and I'm annoyed again.
I mean, it's not like they stabbed me in the back or anything, but it was $20 bucks.
It's so weird watching American TV shows that I regularly download/watch (in English) dubbed in German.
Obviously, the voices are wildly different.
Characters with accents, or specific vocal patterns, suddenly have none, and everyone speaks German.
Imagine a scene involving rivalries between racially mixed gangs in central LA, but they're all speaking and shouting in proper accentless German.
It's disconcerting for me, like a bad acid trip.
#CultureShock bites me in the ass once again.
The trending #Bankcollapse seems like a good time to remind people about #CreditUnions
Credit Unions are owned by THE MEMBERS. You get better rates and no hidden fees.
With "shared branching" you can even go to thousands of branches across the country, more than any bank! https://www.coop.org/Solutions/Engage/Co-op-Shared-Branch
Hey all! A not-so-formal introduction. My name's Benny, I'm a Chicago-based #queer #psychologist #folkmusic creating, #ukulele playing friendly goof #catdad, with some thirst on the side ;)
Let's be kind when we can, and fight fascism when we can't.
Thanks for the friendly welcome :)
Putin is literally running out arms and soldiers, emptying prisons to put men in uniform, and thats not going well.
Time for nations suffering dictators held in place by Russian power, to have some Nice Democratic Revolutions.
Self-governing is the BEST!
Lets send them all notes to remind them of the benefits of not having a dictator crushing their lives.
This is a very highly variegated Philodendron Brasil I got as a cutting last year, it was struggling but seems to have settled nicely.
It has a succulent friend with it.
Once properly grown, I'll transfer it from the plastic soup container it's in to something more permanent.
Time for a new #introduction as my old one's a bit out-of-date.
I'm a 37 year-old cis #gay man living in western PA, USA. I work as a #Unix and (unfortunately) backup #sysadmin. I'm primarily a #NetBSD user.
I'm also into #hamradio, my username's my callsign.
I started #gliding back in July and am now a student glider/#sailplane pilot.
My other interests include #videogames, #books, #hiking, #media (which I used to work in) and #cats, especially my own named Freyja.
So... me. Work in aerospace, more space, not as much aero. Can fix my own car, choose not to. Can fix the random appliance of your choice. Hardcore introvert in person, which is why I love online. Lifelong science fiction fan. Read constantly. Scalzi is my favorite author, because he mixes exactly the right amount of snark into his writing. Together with a guy 30+ years, married since it was legal. Own a home in CA and don't plan to leave unless I immigrate to another country.
