One of several trees felled by last night's winds on the #ucberkeley campus. This one is just north of Frank Schlessinger Way; another fell partly into the roadway a bit west of there and a large branch was broken off a tree next to the southeast corner of Valley Life Sciences.

⚡FINLAND IN NATO⚡

In a historic move, Finland is set to become a member of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) on Tuesday, April 4th, according to a statement released by the President's Office.

The historic move was driven by Putin's blatent aggression by invading Ukraine, a sovereign country!

The Finnish people approve the move to join.

NATO will now have a 1,340 km long border with Russia!

Headline - Vatican repudiates Doctrine of Discovery in response to demands from Indigenous people.
This was a doctrine of the Catholic Church in the 15 century that proclaimed ownership and sovereignty over land passed to Europeans because they "discovered" it.
The statement goes on to say "the documents had been 'manipulated' for political purposes by colonial powers 'to justify immoral acts against Indigenous peoples that were carried out, at times, without opposition from ecclesial authorities.' "
In other words, the Church back then was not in the wrong, being infallible. It was others that mis-used their doctrine. At times (as in usually) without opposition by the Church.
Part of the reason I'm no longer a Catholic.
