Lifelong science fiction fan. Read constantly. Scalzi is my favorite author, because he mixes exactly the right amount of snark into his writing. Together with a guy 30+ years, married since it was legal. Own a home in CA and don't plan to leave unless I immigrate to another country.

I've not posted on here much lately, so here's a burst of macro loveliness to make up for it! I've been experimenting with zooming out a little in my compositions to show more of the microhabitat around the wee beasties, and I quite like the results!

One of several trees felled by last night's winds on the #ucberkeley campus. This one is just north of Frank Schlessinger Way; another fell partly into the roadway a bit west of there and a large branch was broken off a tree next to the southeast corner of Valley Life Sciences.

In a historic move, Finland is set to become a member of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) on Tuesday, April 4th, according to a statement released by the President's Office.
The historic move was driven by Putin's blatent aggression by invading Ukraine, a sovereign country!
The Finnish people approve the move to join.
NATO will now have a 1,340 km long border with Russia!
