@ScottSoCal @johnmacintosh BUT JUST LOOK AT THOSE CARTS
Itβs traditional after 100 days in power to assess how things are going with our leaders in Washington. So how does the GOP House Majorityβs record look, at just over 100 days in?
In #TheBigPictureβs installment today, we look at the failed promises, emotional distractions and rudderless agenda of the Republican House Majority. Read more here: https://thinkbigpicture.substack.com/first-100-days-gop-house
I made this video years ago. #Trump is finally on trial for one his assaults. #EJeanCarroll #MelBrooks
It's good that everyone has forgotten her, but if you want to understand what the current #Republican party is, it started the day Steve fucking Schmidt decided Palin would be McCain's running mate. That was the day the party overtly embraced fascism. https://www.rollingstone.com/politics/politics-features/jon-ward-testimony-evangelical-movement-excerpt-1234714038/
@KFuentesGeorge @ScottSoCal I remember how people justified the killing of 12-year-old Tamir Rice. Someone said the park/playground where Tamir was playing was in a bad neighborhood; another said the kid was 5'7" tall. (I guess they never heard of growth spurts among 8th graders.) There was no scrutiny aimed at the police officer in question, who washed out of the academy at a small-town police force before joining the Cleveland police force.
Theyβre playing 80βs hits in the local grocery stores.
Did you ever wonder "Why do some gay/trans/etc people have to be so LOUD about it?"
That? That was all for this moment. To make it harder to get rid of us without anybody noticing.
I'm under no illusions that the political situation for trans people is going to turn on a dime. Bad things may come. But I will promise that you're going to have to hear about it. I'm not planning on letting anyone pretend what's happening isn't happening.
Today I think I'll do compost updates instead of garden updates.
A few years ago I got this rotating composter as a birthday gift. According to the composting legend himself, Dick Kitto, this style is perfect for a small home garden, as it enables the frequent rotation necessary for adequate oxygen.
I eat mostly plant based, so pretty much all of my scraps and abandoned leftovers can be composted easily, with the exception of banana peels and corn husks. My compost consists mostly of vegetable and fruit scraps, coffee grounds & filters, eggshells and bits of paper/cardboard. I also mix in used soil from previous container crops.
Yesterday I realized the compost had gotten very warm and everything has been breaking down very quickly with significant insect activity, so I threw in some used dirt. Today the temperature and insect activity have dropped a bit, but I expect them to recover quickly. Ideal breakdown occurs at just over 120Β° F. Maintaining high temperature breaks down weed seeds from yard scraps and creates an environment harmful to plant pathogens.
When this side of the composter is full enough and broken down enough, it will get mixed in to the patch of garden where the pumpkins will be transplanted. Should take a few more weeks for both the pumpkins and compost to be ready.
