A big mistake that liberal minded folks are making is buying into the "I just don't understand" lie & dog whistle that bigots keep using.

Stop trying to teach them or to explain. This is the interaction they want.

You don't have to "get it" or even like it, to respect people & their right to live their lives how they want.

I don't understand sports fanatics and yet I'm not trying to pass laws to stop tailgate parties & ban face painting your team colours.

Life has hard times and loss. I had to deal death from a very early age as I lost my Dad at 10 to suicide, then his brother who was my favorite uncle a year later and a year after that their Mom and my sweet Granny. Grief work is special to me. I want to bring comfort.

Part 1: I felt like doing a new #Introduction post as I never pinned my original one. I'm Mark a #DigitalArtist and #Photographer - I've been doing this around 15 years now, most of that time it's been my only gig. I feel like I've been starting over the past year as I spent the past 5 years taking care of my Mom who is in the late stages of dementia. Last spring I had to face it was no longer something I could do at home. Luckily she's very close and I walk over to see her almost every day.

Shout out to the DMV agent who, when my mom said no to voter registration, looked her dead in the eye and said, "They're going to take away your grandchildren's rights, you need to register." and now my mom is finally registered to vote.

finally finished restoring my Nana's singer sewing machine, had to let the case dry for five months, then consolidate the wood, match original varnish, find the right drawer handles, fill holes. while my engineer took the machine to bits and gave her a good clean and replace a few parts. ain't she pretty #sewing
