The only freedom you have in Texas is the freedom to murder a lot of people quickly.
Why aren't non-religious people screaming at school boards and using the rights anti-trans and anti-"CRT" technique to get rid of religion in schools. Our side plays way too nice with people who only know how to be horrible assholes. It's time we stop worrying about their feeling or what the right-wing media will say and just f'n stand up against Christian fascism. #boycottTexas
cant overstate how easy it is to explain adults doing consensual weird stuff in public to kids. "oh some people like doing that!", you're done. everything that adults do is fucking deranged nonsense to kids, going to work makes no sense, it's not hard to explain at all. you want something hard to explain to kids, try death!
Texas passes law which requires public schools to display The Ten Commandments of the Christian Bible in every classroom with a font size readable from every seat.
β In a country founded on religious freedom and the separation of church and state. Wow!

@lednabm @pixelpusher220 @ScottSoCal @LikeItOrLumpIt π itβs seriously ridiculous, theyβre just destroying their auto for no reason π
@ScottSoCal @enoch @LikeItOrLumpIt @lednabm I used to commute in a hybrid that let me solo use the single left HOV lane on I-66 in DC/VA.
As normal rush hour traffic would rubberband from 60 to 0 to 60, I would just set my cruise at 35-40. Since it was single lane, wasn't a worry of ppl continuing to cut in front.
Holy Smoky were ppl pissed off. I'm like you can *see* the stopped traffic up ahead right? Im literally saving you gas (and brake wear)!
@ScottSoCal @pixelpusher220 @enoch @LikeItOrLumpIt
And spend money having to replace their brake pads more often....
@enoch @LikeItOrLumpIt @lednabm always a car seat happy dance when an asshole driver who passed me ends up pulled over on the shoulder
My shadecloth experiment is working beyond my wildest dreams!
It's 1) grippy enough for ramps that an old rat can climb 2) easy to clean and 3) not tempting for them to chew.
I built a big spiral ramp all the way up the cage. The central atrium, as it were, is filled with many shadecloth safety nets to catch silly old buggers who like falling off edges of said ramps.
The younger rats still climb up the sides, or race round in a big spiral, so they have more running space which is great.
I made a small heated space for Maurice, and as you can see he's found the warmest spot which is actually just *above* the warm box.
Today, after his breakfast, I bundled him into the black plastic penthouse bed right into the top of the cage which he can't reach even with the ramps. You can't see him in the picture, he's underneath Jasper, the handsome young fellow with the whiskers.

Just to be clear, in a functioning democratic system, this man's own party would vote unanimously to expel him from the House and bar him from returning.
In the system we have, not a single Republican is going to vote to expel him. It's not even clear they'll have the opportunity, since McCarthy probably won't allow the vote to happen.

The House is back in session this week.
Iβm ready to work with my colleagues in Washington for the people of #OH11 and everyday Americans across the country.
