I like how you always initiate debates between autistic people. It's so good to read how others experience things.

Also I agree with you on not putting us into different boxes, bit sticking together and speaking out for one another.

So, some of you are observing that my posts are really dumb.

Yes, but they pale in comparison to some of my life choices.

Ron De Fascist wants to be Adolf so bad. The sad thing is, some people are waiting until he DOES the heinous things Adolf did before they wake up and sayβ€”β€œDAMNβ€”this guy is Adolf!”

Please don’t wait til thenβ€”NOW is the time to raise your voice. VOTE.

Saddened hugely by the news of Russ Nicholson's death. He was one of the artists who shaped the look of UK fantasy in the 80s and 90s, with a style that's instantly recognisable and unique. He did amazing work for Hogshead's Warhammer FRP line and was a delight to deal with.

Okay, I confess: I've started watching #TheGoodDoctor out of curiosity.

Now, I need to talk about it with the @actuallyautistic people, but I'm also interested in non-autistic impressions.

Of course there's the question of representation. #seanmurphy is the stereotypical savant autistic. But there are people like him, right? To me, that's fine.

Then there's a lot of prejudice. To me, it seems a bit exaggerated. If he has succeeded in studying medicine, why are they so concerned?

Last spring we had ravens nesting nearby. They are loud! They didn't nest here this year but they're still around, often calling to each other. Here's my tribute to this intelligent bird - I have added a quilted effect to my #artwork to give it a 3D look.

I wasn't diagnosed originally with any of these, but Aspergers Syndrome. Only years later when I had to be diagnosed AGAIN in a different country from where I was born post DSM-5 did I receive this diagnosis of Level 2. Which is ironic, of course, in that people often equate "aspergers' with "level 1".

Listening to NT β€œautism experts” speaking about things like unmasking, making boundaries, and advocacy is like listening to Jerry Falwell talk about reproductive rights or Enoch Powell speaking about race relations.

A nice moment in my singing lesson today: with help and guidance, my voice did what I wanted, and then my coach and I both raised our arms in victory and went "yay!"

I've been given interoception homework for next lesson, although it wasn't called that.

Also I started crying twice, because of the *music*, man.

She mainly seems amused.

I just asked my pops to join me at punk show so he can make sure I get pulled out of the mosh pit.

Isn’t that what dads are for?

The Incredible and Daring Dove.

This white winged dove (Zenaida asiatica) is taking a stroll along this wing like it's a sidewalk. I'm not really astonished; they fly by the way.

"Originally a bird of desert thickets, the White-winged Dove has become a common sight in cities and towns across the southern U.S. When perched, this bird’s unspotted brown upperparts and neat white crescents along the wing distinguish it from the ubiquitous Mourning Dove. In flight, those subdued crescents become flashing white stripes worthy of the bird’s common name. Take a closer look and you’ll see a remarkably colorful face, with bright-orange eyes and blue β€œeye shadow.”" - allaboutbirds.org

@ScottSoCal Thank you. I appreciate it. I picked up a magazine yesterday, hours after my cat passed away and one of the articles was "A Cat's Brain, How they Think Learn, and Communicate." Just knowing they love us like we love them, brings comfort.

uspol how to build a movement?

Does anyone have thoughts about how to build solidarity with Dems and talk about a more effective movement? That's always the advice I hear from both socialists and anarchists - we need to build a movement, we need to disrupt things, etc. I honestly have no clue how to do that. People get mad at me if I talk about how voting isn't working. Even when I agree to vote, there's no path towards talking about what to do after voting.

It feels like we're just so so far from this movement being real. We're so overwhelmed by just barely holding back the push from fascists that it feels impossible to take steps towards greater change.

Please yell shit at neo-Nazis when they are in your town and have someone film it. It is on its face a good thing to do and it galvanizes your neighbors yell shit at neo-Nazis wherever they may occur.
