That's where I'm at. I've yet to see anything resembling even remotely promising evidence yet though.
Do my #ActuallyAutistic comrades consider themselves to be โspiritualโ (whatever that means to you) or people of faith? How does that connect to your autistic self and brain?
@lapingvino @Grizzlysgrowls @geographile @axnxcamr @addie @actuallyautistic @bookstodon @audhd In trying to understand this comment, I fell down a rabbit hole that ended (because my last go TF to sleep alarm went off) in a last theorem meme. I am going to go to bed pondering thisโฆ
How to covertly converse with conservatives
@PatrickoftheG makes a good point about racist jokes, but I have a corresponding tip if you would like to keep your lips clean.
Someone says something racist or off-color you just respond jokingly with "but you can say that anymore, either!"
At this point you are free to rant about any arrangement of 3 letters. It doesn't matter if they are good, bad or even real.
"Yeah, they'll probably report you to the DEI CRT FBI CIA WTF!"
Autistic Burnout? New Truth - What If It Actually Goes Deeper? maybe offensive, I'm not sure
@actuallyautistic @actuallyadhd
A doctor, an autist, and his wife stroll into a bar. Think dark. Quiet. Ferns. Intense quiet convos in the corners.
Doc quiety bellies up to the bar, says to the barkeep, "Give me a shot of whiskey."
I boom, "Shot of tequila, my friend!"
Wife sighs, "Give me a shot of vodka." Sighs again. "Scratch that. Make it a double."
Bartender goes, "Wow, you guys have some serious thirst going on. Whaddya drinking for?"
Doc nods at me, says, "His health." Shrugs, sips his whiskey, stares off.
I giglgle, "To autistic joy!" But I do the tequila all wrong. Bite the lime first. Scream in surprise. Then drop the shot. Tequila & salt spraying everywhere. This autist starts grabbing napkins, mopping up the mess, apologizing over and over and overโฆ
The wife sighs, one last timeโฆ "We're drinking for our marriage. Go figger."
Ok. I wish this post on autistic burnout, health in my autistic elder era & testosterone started with a punchline. Even a dumb one. But it doesn't.
But I hope it ends with a decent punchline. And a pinch of inspiration. And it may. G-d willing and the creek don't riseโฆ

Be gentle, but honest? Did I get away without offending? I'm trying to kill two birds with one ironic stone...
So last night I got a reminder that I am, in fact, an aging human, when I did something unfortunate to my knee while bringing food from the kitchen to the family room. Still waiting to find out what I did, but now I'm sitting in the waiting room of my local urgent care, one of three people masked, while the four Advil I took this morning wear off.
If hell was a real thing, this would be my version of it; at the mercy of others, with no idea what's coming.
So... me. Work in aerospace, more space, not as much aero. Can fix my own car, choose not to. Can fix the random appliance of your choice. Hardcore introvert in person, which is why I love online. Lifelong science fiction fan. Read constantly. Scalzi is my favorite author, because he mixes exactly the right amount of snark into his writing. Together with a guy 30+ years, married since it was legal. Own a home in CA and don't plan to leave unless I immigrate to another country.
