Letβs get this right. Scientists didnβt fail to communicate the risks of #climatechange, they have been warning us for a century. Our policies are failing because after knowing the risks, fossil fuel companies spent billions of dollars blocking meaningful action on #climate.
I say βyβallβ instead of βyou guysβ or βyou ladiesβ because itβs gender neutral.
I need people on the left, every flavor of the left, to understand this. Your passion right now cannot be for voting for whomever is making a stunt third party presidency bid because the passion on the right is to KILL us. Republicans are happily coalescing power with & through white supremacist terrorists who are murdering people regularly and terrorizing people daily, and they are creating policy to enable those killers and terrorists.

As a non-binary person, making unisex jewellery is one of my favourite things. They are androgynous beauty that I feel helps me and supporters celebrate beauty in a genderless form. Although I believe everyone should wear whatever they like, creating in this style feels even more accurate to my own genderlessness some days. Check out more unisex handmade jewellery here, and hope to send them to a loving home of any gender very soon β€οΈ

(Me: Texas is broken and the Governor and the GOP broke it for their friend's profit!)
My dear @Subrote made these for me a while back. I wanted to throw some pride bricks! And now she's got her Etsy store up and running if you want some! https://www.etsy.com/shop/TheTransMaker

Which TV characters do my #ActuallyAutistic comrades see as the most autistically coded?
Do my #ActuallyAutistic comrades often massage their own feet or hands as a stim?
A new poll from Japan shows that over 80% of respondents are still wearing a mask the majority of the time when they go out.
I am sorry but i absolutely refuse to follow live updates or take any interest in what happens to three #Billionaire tourists or whatever on a luxury thrill-seeking, super-expensive, super-unnecessary fun thing, when over 500 people (including many children) are feared dead after #Tragedy in Mediterranean and we never had live coverage or frontpage news on it. (And yes of course this is sad too but the difference in concern is just so wrong)
I've read a lot of stories about people going on doomed "adventures" that got them killed and the unifying element in almost every case is arrogance.
Bad luck, too, sure, but smart people prepare for the worst as much as possible.
Because Mount Everest is trying to kill you. The ocean is trying to kill you. Outer space is trying to kill you. Nature doesn't care if other humans gave you a pass on shit.
And back then, I (naturally) drew the wrong conclusion back then. My conclusion was that these were mostly harmless idiots with a bad plan.
Now I understand that I was wrong - because I presumed they were honest about their goal.
But I see now the goal never was about changing minds. Their goal was *always* to make sure that queer people felt nervous and unwelcome. But, formerly, with a veneer of respectable concern for their souls.
All they've done, recently, is just pull off that veneer.
There was a white supremacist with "white pride" tattoos in line in front of me at the pharmacy. One elderly white guy in my city has WS tattoos, so? Did I think no-one did? Did I think that out-and-proud WSs did not pick up stuff from the pharmacy in my city? Obviously not.
But I still didn't know quite what to do. Cause a scene? Spit on him? Yell "Black Lives Matter" in his face as he walks out?
I urge you all to think about it in advance, so you do not freeze up like I did.
So... me. Work in aerospace, more space, not as much aero. Can fix my own car, choose not to. Can fix the random appliance of your choice. Hardcore introvert in person, which is why I love online. Lifelong science fiction fan. Read constantly. Scalzi is my favorite author, because he mixes exactly the right amount of snark into his writing. Together with a guy 30+ years, married since it was legal. Own a home in CA and don't plan to leave unless I immigrate to another country.
