No one ever teaches us what to say to someone who is dying or has chosen to die. Just speak from your heart, write a eulogy and read it, sit in quiet contemplation, whatever seems best, but just showing up is half the battle.
You may be emotional, afraid of crying, lost for words - just do it. I've lost three relatives when I didn't, I was too afraid or just assumed they knew how I felt. I regret it to this day.

This will be a major storyline of the next year: how #Ukraine fatigue, or outright opposition to Ukrainian victory, will play a role in the 2024 presidential campaign.
Fighting this βUkraine fatigueβ is one of the reasons The Counteroffensive exists in the first place.
We believe that by writing compelling, human-first stories about people going through the news, we can keep interest and public attention on this terrible conflict.
Finally, the only restaurant that Bourdain visited that is still open is a staple street food in #Kyiv.
One of the few to be "overwhelmingly Kyivian," says Druziuk, who met up with Will to share the hot dog-esque guilty pleasure.
βKyivska Perepichkaβ is a small window on a busy street near #Maidan #Nezalezhnosti, the central square in Kyiv, that serves a #Ukrainian delicacy known as Perepichka, which is a hot dog wrapped in dough and then fried.

Be careful with any βprotestβ votes and who you cast them for. You could be casting your last vote of any consequence, or your last vote β period.
Donβt let yourself get played, and donβt play yourself.

@StillIRise1963 I try hard not to be racist. I donβt think I am but Iβm a 65 year old white man raised in Oregon. There were only three or four black people IN Oregon back then! I exagerate (not much). I wonder why :|
I had a lot to learn. I try to be a vocal advocate and not put up with overt racism I witness. I vote blue, every single time, every single election. I donate blue money to progressives.

I'm just going to leave this here, because really, what can be said?

Interesting stat from this poll is that the Rejoin/Stay Out preference across the UK now exactly matches the Scottish Remain/Leave vote *on the day of the actual #Brexit referendum* - 23 June 2016.
Took you a while, but you got there.

I have definitely been conditioned to think I am to blame for everything that goes wrong
One of the things that has really helped my mental health was recognizing the difference between fact statements and choice statements. For instance:
Fact Statement: I feel lonely.
Choice Statement: I will always be lonely.
Fact Statement: I don't have a lot of social skills.
Choice Statement: It's impossible for me to learn social skills.
That being said, if you feel depressed and anxious no matter what you do, then you need medical help. For some reason in our culture, we treat the brain like it's not a part of our body. I have a hormone imbalance and need a low dose of hormones to keep my endometriosis from getting worse. If you have a chemical imbalance in your brain, then you might need help balancing that too, and there's absolutely no shame in something you cannot help. And please don't feel scared if the first thing you try doesn't work, this is true for many meds, most people try several meds and doses before it works right, be honest and keep trying.
So... me. Work in aerospace, more space, not as much aero. Can fix my own car, choose not to. Can fix the random appliance of your choice. Hardcore introvert in person, which is why I love online. Lifelong science fiction fan. Read constantly. Scalzi is my favorite author, because he mixes exactly the right amount of snark into his writing.
