#OtD 11 Jun 1943 Karl Gorath, 20, a nurse, was deported to the Auschwitz concentration camp for homosexuality. He managed to survive until the end of the war, but was soon rearrested and jailed under the same Nazi law by the same judge in West Germany https://t.co/QWmTmN9ffk https://stories.workingclasshistory.com/article/8323/karl-gorath-deported-to-auschwitz?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=mastodon
@Patrickoldhiker @mekkaokereke @ben @michael_w_busch The Satire Singularity when reality and The Onion become indistinguishable faster than you can perceive.
@ScottSoCal @ldmay65 @actuallyautistic Yeah, I can relate to that, Data is a favourite of mine, I suspect for much the same reason. The scene where he pushes Beverly Crusher into the sea on the holodeck would totally be me !
Saying ello to all awesome #NeuroSpicy πΆ / #AuDHD / #ActuallyAutistic peeps!
I've been Tooting a lot about my current struggles relating to: moving/changing life/changing routine/being social on social media. Maybe you've noticed... π
I'm looking for peeps to follow! Peeps to chat with. Maybe you've been in "my" situation, maybe you'll be in "my" situation (soon), or maybe you just wanna try out your social skills (like I do).
Please drop me a Toot!
This time, this Toot, I will be brave and tag the Actually Autistics group for a boost
Be warned, I either Toot my fingers off, or I'll lurk from a safe hiding spot...
Have a fabulous day πΈ

It's the weekend here, so Scooter gets to sleep a few minutes later, but breakfast is ready when she is.
I resemble that image!

Sounds about right π
I haven't see The Abyss for a couple decades, because it almost never comes on TV. Today it came on the Beeb, and damn, what a great film. It's got everything, massive suspense and claustrophobia, Sci-fi, a bad romance; I'm just amazed right now. Forgot it was James Cameron.

Just a little reminder that here in Europe, we play the same exact video games as youth from the United States
We do not have (daily) school shootings however
Instead of blaming video games, start looking at the super easy to get weapons on each corner of street problem
Games are not the problem, weapons are πΊπΈ
J.K. Rowling and "Separating the Art from the Artist"

"This hypothetical separation of the person from the thing they created always rankles me a little bit β because I don't think marginalized creators, including trans creators, ever quite get that luxury."
I don't know if this will help anyone else, but I'll put it out there:
OTC sleep aids usually use an antihistamine, for the side-effect of making you drowsy. Not all are equal.
I go to sleep easily, but tend to wake up early - hours early. Doxylamine Succinate stays in your system longer, and will help you stay asleep. I buy 25mg tablets that break in half, so I'm getting 12-13mg, and that works for me.
But didn't great grandmother get married and stay married? Lived her life right! Not like the fast little girls we have today.
My great grandmother had 5 husbands. She married the first at 15. He was in his 40s and she was considered lucky since married to him they could not take the land she owned. (Rocky, hilly soil cut by a river in North Carolina)-- her first husband died of the flu and she got married again right away. She had to be married to exist.
She was a remarkable woman.
My sister reminded me that itβs the anniversary of my first book today! I published The Wolfβs Call on this day twelve years ago and itβs still going strong. Mind you, itβs free, which helps. π

EV sales slowdown is mostly a Tesla problem, according to sales data
Almost every other automaker is seeing double-digit EV sales growth.
So... me. Work in aerospace, more space, not as much aero. Can fix my own car, choose not to. Can fix the random appliance of your choice. Hardcore introvert in person, which is why I love online. Lifelong science fiction fan. Read constantly. Scalzi is my favorite author, because he mixes exactly the right amount of snark into his writing. Together with a guy 30+ years, married since it was legal. Own a home in CA and don't plan to leave unless I immigrate to another country.
