Holy fucking fuckcakes. Now capitalism is telling us that the problem without economy is that young people aren't willing to be slaves and work for free.

Yesterday was Mr. Boots & my wedding anniversary.
After we heard the news yesterday, I got hammered*, we made a huge pan of nachos, & then, we looged off social media & news & spent the rest of the day watching awful disaster movies. It was AWESOME.
& now I'm ready. I'll go HARD for #Harris & whomever she chooses as her VP. I trust her. She knows how many lives are at stake.
I will be fearless. & if you can't be right now, I understand, & I'll be fearless for you, too.
Anyone I see blathering on about Harris being a ghastly candidate, but not quite as bad as Trump, so they guess they'll just have to hold their nose & vote for the lesser evil, you'll get unfollowed and/or blocked as appropriate.
Yes, I have already had three of these just today. It's going to be a long campaign.
@BPStuart
And to have a goddam speaker Johnson say that "*Biden* is unfit for presidency if he is not running for president." They endorse a criminal, and Biden is the one unfit.
Since I cannot formulate in more proper words: "f*** them."
Donald Trump selected J.D. Vance as his running mate. Abortion bans, cuts to social security, election denial and Project 2025. Here is all you need to know about his extreme views. #BreakingNews #Abortion #Election2024 #RoeYourVote #Vote4Healthcare #AbortionIsHealthcare #Project2025IsTrumpVance #StopProject2025
The whole political world will be looking at fundraising numbers right now as a measure of enthusiasm for Vice President Harris. This is a way for us to set a narrative about unity and massive energy. We want to be able to say we had our largest fundraising day in years. Based on the grassroots enthusiasm we've already seen today, we think thatβs achievable if enough folks step up and donate: https://secure.actblue.com/donate/2024-harris?refcode=mastodon20240721directpost&source=mastodon
When Trump struck a TV-ready pose after a bullet whizzed past his ear, Mark Zuckerberg called it "one of the most badass things Iβve ever seen in my life." Imagine if Trump's billionaire masters had the emotional maturity to recognize what real badassery is: Biden sacrificing his own ego and ambition to preserve our democracy. Go Kamala.
Fuck off, Washington Post. This is not your party, not your election, not your country, you are not in charge. Stop your open-convention wet-dreams. Zip it up. You helped The Times hound Biden from office. Now @KamalHarris needs every minute to defeat the fascist you still do not fully cover. So fuck off.
With Biden stepping aside, Democrats must now embrace an open process https://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/2024/07/21/biden-drop-out-dnc-convention-harris/
Holy cow, this is really happening! I wrote a book about the science of real-world zombiesβants, roaches, caterpillars & moreβand it's heading your way in Spring 2025 from @HopkinsPress.
There are so many weird, cool mechanisms for behavior manipulation, and they lend insights into neurochemistry, evolution and human behavior. If you're curious about the origins of the zombifying fungus in The Last of Us, this may align with your interests!
Wanna come at me saying you saw a UFO? Or that we're being visited by aliens?
You better have the evidence, baby. Because it's never aliens.

I've written a longish take on the last couple of days, including about how what looked like (and initially was) Democratic panic over Biden morphed somewhere along the way into a rope-a-dope strategy against the GOP, and whether Harris can win (spoiler: yup):

Get ready. With VP Kamala Harris as the presidential nominee, she is going to be criticized for anything and everything unrelated to the job. Best to be prepared to call out the sexist nonsense when you see it.
