@aravosis This is not going to work out the way the Russians think it will work out.
"Here is a rifle. Go fight the army of your own countryfolks trying to liberate you from our occupation."
Sure. That won't have any undesired consequences. /s
The Respect for Marriage Act was passed by the Senate today. It is, in so many ways, an imperfect bill. It is also going to protect millions of LGBTQ families, and Iβm grateful to Senator Tammy Baldwin for leading on it.
I wrote about the bill here: https://charlotteclymer.substack.com/p/i-hate-the-senate-bill-and-we-need#details
New server means new #introduction.
Hi all! I'm a journalist who covers hate and extremism in the US at a publication I launched called The Informant.
I began my career almost 20 years ago at a local newspaper in Arizona and later worked on staff at Talking Points Memo and the Southern Poverty Law Center. I've also freelanced a lot.
I enjoy art and graffiti. I was recently diagnosed with #LongCovid, which has drastically changed my life. But I'm still here.
Please feel free to say hi.
There is no such thing as an unlimited right. Slander, libel, death threats, hate speech, perjury, false reports to law enforcement -- there are many forms of speech that are illegal, and HAVE to be illegal for society to operate. Finding those boundaries is difficult, and requires constant consideration. But pretending that there is an unfettered right to speak unconstrained by how it can can cause harm to others is childish.
Herschel Walker just got trolled so frigging hard. Well done,@TobyMorton !!! ππ https://god.dailydot.com/herschel-walker-website-troll/

My message to fellow foreign ministers at today's NATO meeting is simple: Keep calm and give tanks.

Folks have mentioned that Twitter is an extremely important space for sharing #protest news across the world and as a result we should keep preserving it despite the takeover.
I get it, I am #Iranian, I have relied heavily on twitter for news sharing re protests in #Iran over the years.
But what you are missing is that those same activists and protesters are MOST vulnerable to the new Twitter regime. Misinformation campaigns will be easy, and #Putin/#China/Islamic republic will use it.
I cannot stress strongly enough that genocides do not start with death camps. Thatβs where they end.
No, they start with dangerous rhetoric that whips up violence against marginalized groups.
People like Walsh, Pool, Shapiro, Carlson, Raichik, etc. absolutely know this. They are fomenting a genocide against trans and queer folks, and it is working.
Tucker Carlson is once again using his platform to spread anti-LGBTQ+ lies, this time about Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg.
After he claimed Secretary Pete somehow "lied" about being gay, his husband Chasten ably clapped back with a much-needed truth bomb.

Amazing photo from #China - the people stand up to Xi, some demanding he step down. Photo of two professors from Fudan University.
So... me. Work in aerospace, more space, not as much aero. Can fix my own car, choose not to. Can fix the random appliance of your choice. Hardcore introvert in person, which is why I love online. Lifelong science fiction fan. Read constantly. Scalzi is my favorite author, because he mixes exactly the right amount of snark into his writing.
