An Alzheimer's drug just received accelerated approval from the FDA
This is awesome.
Lecanemab, a monoclonal antibody, is *not a cure* but works by binding to amyloid beta, a hallmark of Alzheimerβs disease
Itβs treating some effects of Alzheimerβsβnot early mechanisms. However, this will buy patients time so itβs absolutely a cause to celebrate π
@AlyAlyOutnFree Hello! I go by April or Kirby and use she/her pronouns. I like baking and improv and sketch comedy. I can write official looking documents for you. I really once said "These acquisition regulations are actually kind of interesting when you get into them."
And I really started getting into selfies about 9.5 months ago for some reason π€

@AlyAlyOutnFree Hi Alyssa, I am Joanne (she/her). A random thing about me is that I enjoy photography and I recently started infrared photography with full spectrum converted cameras. Perhaps I will post some in the future.
@AlyAlyOutnFree Good morning. Iβm Samantha (she/her). Random things about me are that I ran a marathon many years ago, and I like to build lego Star Wars sets. My wife also informed me Iβm a giant cat π€£
Hope you have a good day!

Mushroom, Leek and White Wine Pasta π·
This creamy, savory pasta dish comes together without the need to boil the pasta separately. Savory sautΓ©ed mushrooms and gently sweet leeks combine with cream, lemon juice, and white wine to create the rich sauce. Feel free to switch up the flavor by adding tarragon instead of dill.

TimeCrimes (2007 Spain) This head spinning time travel/paradox film was written/directed/stars Nacho Vigalondo. This is one movie you canβt turn your brain off and just sink into the sofa after a hard workday. Wait til the weekend. Time travel can make your head hurt (in a good way) with paradoxes and this one proves it. Thinking up all the time threads that have to be neatly put in their place can be a challenge but Vigalondo goes big, takes a risk and pulls it off. You're not going to find epic cinematography or production design. Itβs a low budget writing focused film and Iβm here for it. I really enjoyed it but ended the film with WTF. I love WTF. Itβs better than βIβve seen the same damn plot like twenty times in the past monthβ. Hollywood has an issue with imagination as in they are remaking the same story over and over like an effing time loop. So I love to see something trippy and unique. It was supposed to be remade in English but got trapped in development hell. Find it rentable on most streaming. #SciFi #Sci-Fi #ScienceFiction #Film #FilmFan #Films #Cinema #Movie #Movies
So... me. Work in aerospace, more space, not as much aero. Can fix my own car, choose not to. Can fix the random appliance of your choice. Hardcore introvert in person, which is why I love online. Lifelong science fiction fan. Read constantly. Scalzi is my favorite author, because he mixes exactly the right amount of snark into his writing. Together with a guy 30+ years, married since it was legal. Own a home in CA and don't plan to leave unless I immigrate to another country.
