@ScottSoCal Yes, the 8086 was packaged as a 40-pin DIP. Intel didn't like ICs with a lot of pins; even 40 pins was way more than they liked.

@ScottSoCal I love that after all the time spent searching for extraterrestial life, our first reaction is to just shoot at anything we don't understand (I am not saying it's aliens. but we don't even know, apparently)
Every asshole pundit and journalist who mansplained to those of us who were worried about exactly this happening should never be taken seriously again. They are not serious people, they are not smart people, and they don't know what the fuck is going on in the world around them.
So after shooting something down over Alaska yesterday, NORAD planes shot down something over Canadian territory today. They haven't identified what either one was, just "not balloon".
