Rain was forecast. I hate umbrellas. I wore a hat - a black, wide-brimmed fedora. Plus a black suit and black overcoat.
I have a beard; and very white skin. Guess which racial stereotype I may have seemed like?

As I came out of the train station I heard "fuck off back where you came from" and "we don't want your type here", then realised it was directed at me.

When it's you, you feel it.

I felt it.

I am begging more people to understand that legal bans on drag are just an easier way to pass laws make being trans/GNC in public illegal.

The claim that these laws are meant to "ban drag to protect children" is intended to hide the fact that they actually make "cross dressing" in public (aka "anywhere people under 18 could be") illegal.

That means if your ID says M and you are in a dress doing your grocery shopping you can be arrested. If your ID says F and you are wearing men's pants and a button down at your doctor's office you can be arrested.

This is not careless wording, it is a very pointed and purposeful way to get these laws passed before most people understanding their true intent and how they will be used.

They know people are less likely to oppose or work to stop a law that is "banning drag to protect children" from passing than a law "banning trans people from existing anywhere in public". They know that LGBTQIA+ people and our allies will not give as much time/energy to fighting what they think is a "ban on drag" than a "ban on trans people" because the level of importance and impact will seem lower.

They also want to stop drag and will use it to limit drag performances too, but the main targets/intent once these laws are passed is to use it against trans/GNC people so we literally cannot legally exist in any public space.

Their goal is to terrorize trans people out of existence, push us back into (or keep us from coming out of) the closet, and throw any of us who try to continue to exist in jail. Tennessee is now the first to pass one of these laws, but MANY states in the US have laws already being advanced that move them towards this goal.

It. Is. Not. About. Drag.

Sometimes words cannot fully describe the horrors of war.

But pictures can.

These 'Postcards from Ukraine' show the scale of suffering and destruction caused by Russia's war of aggression.

Even more so, they show how important it is to help Ukraine rebuild what war has destroyed.

The EU is working with its international partners to already start rebuilding Ukraine and ensure our commitment in the long term.

We will not stop until Ukraine prevails.

The things this tortilla has seen.

About ten years ago, a friend of mine got married at the Phoenix Zoo and it was actually pretty cool because the package included a couple of zookeepers bringing out some animals to pet.

At some point in the night, I noticed people starting to gather around a zookeeper who had set up a kiddie pool with a little armadillo waddling around in it.

As the zookeeper was talking, I sat down next to the kiddie pool and the armadillo came over and began climbing all over me and I was seriously living my best life with that little cuddler until I heard the zookeeper say:

“So, uhhhhhh, as I was saying, armadillos have been known to carry leprosy, so if you intend to touch the armadillo, please only use the tips of your fingers and ensure you use hand sanitizer after.”

The good news is that I don’t have leprosy yet; however, if I do get it, it will have been worth it.
