New #introduction for new instance!

I'm Tonya Marie, a mid-50s trans woman originally from Texas but now safely ensconced in Seattle. I'm a semi-retired #math teacher and occasional coder, but my passion is being a housewife for my loving wife.

When I'm not #cooking, #baking, or keeping house, I love #boardgames and both computer and tabletop #RPGs (particularly #pathfinder).

I post livetoots of various cooking and baking endeavors under the hashtag #WhatIsTonyaMarieCooking.

Zimmy has spent the last hour latched to this treat. An old dog savoring every blissful moment. #DogsOfMastodon #dogs @petabites

This morning I was unfollowed and blocked by someone because I apparently boost too many posts from other accounts. While admittedly it does sting a little, it's understandable; since 2022-12-01, I've posted or boosted almost 16.5k. The math for that isn't complicated.

I firmly believe that every single person here on the fediverse is entitled to follow, unfollow or block whomever they wish; one of the best, if not THE best aspects of this is how we are our own algorithms. I owe no one a follow and no one owes me one either.

Having said that, I wanted to make clear to everyone that yes, I am aware I'm active to an excessive extent. I boost things that I enjoy, or I find hilarious, thought-provoking, heartbreaking, or any combination of these things - sometimes even ALL of them.

I feel camaraderie with many folks on here and the amount of creativity and talent to be found here is truly staggering. To me, the posts I boosts aren't just mundane text, they are ARTISTIC creations.

So, in summary - if I'm posting/boosting too much, then I offer my apologies. But I have no intention of stopping - quite the opposite. So if you need to mute, unfollow or even block - I encourage you to do so now before I cause psychic trauma.

I want to write a 'thanks for last night, it was amazing' note to that linguini I had yesterday. Mmmm.

Surprise!

While we were walking this morning, this American robin landed right in front of me. I took a lot of very detailed pictures of the robin moving around. At one point, I even said out loud, "give me one more pose." I was planning on posting one of those, then I saw this photo of the bird flying across the road. I didn't know I captured that ... happy accident. ๐Ÿ™‚

"Robins eat different types of food depending on the time of day: more earthworms in the morning and more fruit later in the day. Because the robin forages largely on lawns, it is vulnerable to pesticide poisoning and can be an important indicator of chemical pollution." - allaboutbirds.org

Itโ€™s really a cruel irony that the best way to manage your ADHD is, essentially, โ€œtry your hardest to not have ADHDโ€.

Take a pill at around the same time every day? Sure, no problem. Itโ€™s not like I have a brain thatโ€™s particularly wired to specifically find that difficult.

@StillIRise1963 I get tired of fighting. Then I look at my Daughter and her friends. We have to stay in it! #girlpower !!!

Transphobia, genocide

Michael Knowles, a commentator at Ben Shapiro's Daily Wire website, has called for the criminalization of all trans people. I sure hope all the people "just asking questions" about trans people who *toooootally* aren't transphobic will pause from concern-trolling about kids to actually pushing back on calls for genocide against trans people. mediamatters.org/daily-wire/da

I love buying pottery from @SurlyAmy because it always comes with goodies! I didn't even know I wanted a sticker with pigeons in an ice cream cone until she gave me one ๐Ÿ’™

Terribly sad, and I have to say I'm angry that I wasn't informed. Like Bruce Willis in the Sixth Sense, I'm always the last to know.

The RNC wants Trump to sign a pledge saying heโ€™ll support the ultimate GOP nominee whoever it is, and not run as a third party candidate.

They expect to hold Trump to that promise.

They are truly delusional.

some intersectional antifascists were protesting some shitbag yesterday and omg THIS SIGN ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ’€๐Ÿ’€๐Ÿ’€๐Ÿ’€๐Ÿ’€

You should be careful reading my posts. I think I'm coming down with something, I don't want you to catch it.

Floriduh and its Freedumbs, which amount to full-blown fascism on display.

Remember, Florida is merely an incubator for the country as a whole.

Weโ€™re in trouble.
