Todayโs fact free troll.
Once again, people Iโm following are following this kind of account and boosting my stuff into itโs timeline and I end up with the bullshit.
Please vet your followers or Iโm just going to do what I ended up doing on Twitter- blocking people who mindlessly follow back and amplify trash.
Last night I was with a friend explaining my theory of how autistic folks step blindly into emotional mine fields laid by interlocutors of all neurotypes โ the conflict isnโt as simple as โNT vs NDโ but โstatus-blind autist vs thin-skinned anyoneโ
โ where โthin-skinnedโ isnโt an insult, its just that in this particular situation or relationship or topic thereโs a trigger or lack of trust so the sensitive one both *sends* and *reacts to* subtextual signals that the autist is unaware of, then suddenly changes the subject from whatever the autist is monotropically focusing on to their own feelings, but instead of saying in *words*
โi canโt focus on your point right now since Iโm having feelings and need to clarify your intentions and our relative social status and intimacy levels first but then I promise weโll get back on trackโ
they just sigh and interrupt and accuse
and while theyโre waiting for an *apology* the autist is still trying to *explain* that no, I didnโt mean to offend but can I just finish my point (so now theyโre trying to explain two things at once, poorly) which comes off as invalidating and it all goes sideways ๐ง

Ran across an article on RSD and now wondering if thatโs the name for some of my brain gremlins. I thought RSD was more of an ADHD thing so assumed I didnโt have it, but this article describes some of my reactions quite well. Anyone else have thoughts about RSD and autism?

Some years ago I had a cherry blossom tree I planted in my backyard - this was based on one of my photos of it one spring. Still makes me smile.

Hi! I'm Wendy! I live in Seattle, raised 2 kids as a single mom, I did roller derby, started a convention, worked at a toy company, then a gaming company. Now I'm going to school full time at Seattle's Wood Tech Center for Carpentry and working full time at a Tiny House Village serving our homeless community. I'm a yearly volunteer at San Diego Comic Con and my family loves Marvel movies & Star Wars. We adopted a sweet lil forever baby, Kingston and you'll see his picture here often. I also share pictures of food that I cook when I have a single moment to do it. My youngest son is here @KalEl_CT He loves #TheOwlHouse and animation.
I hope you are all having a nice day.

Todayโs job numbers came in higher than expected, with the U.S. adding 253,000 nonfarm jobs in April. Unemployment fell yet again, to 3.4%, matching a rate not seen since 1969. Black unemployment is at an all-time low of 4.7%. For Hispanics itโs 4.4%, and for Asian Americans, 2.8%. The rate for adult women is 3.1%. Average hourly wages rose 0.5%.
This good economic news didnโt come from nowhere. The Biden administration has focused on building infrastructure, bringing supply chains home, and bolstering new manufacturing. The Bipartisan Infrastructure Act, the CHIPS and Science Act, and the Inflation Reduction Act have invested in workers.

So... me. Work in aerospace, more space, not as much aero. Can fix my own car, choose not to. Can fix the random appliance of your choice. Hardcore introvert in person, which is why I love online. Lifelong science fiction fan. Read constantly. Scalzi is my favorite author, because he mixes exactly the right amount of snark into his writing. Together with a guy 30+ years, married since it was legal. Own a home in CA and don't plan to leave unless I immigrate to another country.
