@ScottSoCal @nafnlaus Thanks! I don't understand words like dative or declension or whatever so I'm hoping they just have a bunch of examples. I've learned several things just through repeated exposure, like -ะพะณะพ is possessive (ะทะฒะตัะฝะตะฝะฝั ะะตะปะตะฝััะบะพะณะพ) , you use the ending -ะพะผ when you do something (or certain things?) with (or to?) a person (ัะพะทะผะพะฒะฐ ะท ะะฐะนะดะตะฝะพะผ). I understand gender because I've studied Spanish.
The surprising part is not that math grad students named Cox and Zucker would come up with the idea of writing a paper together just as a joke.
It's that they followed through after they were professors, and wrote a paper that was actually rather significant.
Menopause is incredibly rare in nature. Most animals die soon after their reproductive capability comes to an end. Aside from humans, only four species of wild animal are known to go through a form of menopause: orcas, narwhals, beluga whales and pilot whales. These animals might shed light on why menopause exists at all.
@nafnlaus How did you learn UA grammar? I have a fairly extensive vocabulary but I know almost nothing about grammar so I'm looking for an app or site that will teach and quiz me. Right now I probably sound like "me yesterday feeded fishes to mine two cats." People can understand what I meant to say but I sound like a child.
Ko-fi shop updated!
I know it's not the most popular platform for shopping. And as far as I know, it's not indexed by search engines.
So.... I need to get comfortable with a little spruiking.
Why ko-fi?
- Etsy is way too full of cheap and nasty ripoff products either directly from China or drop-shipped to Europe.
- My self-hosted website is cookie-free for GDPR compliance, and doesn't have shop capabilities.
- Ebay is just nasty ...
- Instagram marketplace is Zuck.

Assuming I'm autistic - still on the fence about that, but leaning - the thing I've always felt set me apart at work is my ability to make connections between very different things. I resolved an issue with cracks in a crystalline substrate by putting it into the context of my hobby, woodworking. To me it's a logical progression, but to everyone else it's the wildest kind of leap.
Does anyone else here do that? Find a solution by extrapolating in unusual directions?
Has anyone ever told my #ActuallyAutistic comrades that they werenโt โsmart enoughโ or โfocused enoughโ for school, college, or work? You arenโt alone.
@e_urq They are coming for everything that isnโt white male hetro Christian and when the rest of us are gone they will start sorting out the wrong type of Christians.
(Which is a good chunk of European history btw.)
This is why trans rights are human rights and human rights are important to all of us.

I can say that, in my case, the answer is "sometimes".
Occasionally I'll get what I call a "flush rush" that moves from my head down to my gut, stops there, swirls around, then turns into a knot. Then it dissipates a few seconds later.
I know - I'm not normal.
