@Sci_Fi_FanGirl a situation in which i consider more than 20 people at once as friends or comfortable with, would be a completely new experience. π«£@actuallyautistic
@WideAperture my (adult) daughter says they look like they are about to politely but firmly ask me for my lunch money. π
"Swedish Authorities Charge Greta Thunberg With the Crime of Disobeying Cops"
We ALL should be disobeying cops and risking arrest. That's the only option remaining to inspire real change.

Talking with my Husband Randy this morning:
Randy: Today is national kiss day
Randy: I wish I had a beret.
Me: Because only people with berets kiss?
Randy: I will be your Antonio.
Me: He's Spanish and I don't think he is known for berets and the Spanish and the French aren't the only ones who kiss.
Randy: Still
Me: Brush your teeth.
Itβs happened. Our department has lost a young faculty member to a better offer in a safer state.
Texasβs extremist government will end up wrecking the universities here. Given a choice, people donβt want to subject themselves to fascism.
How come those rocks are so neatly sliced? Any rock expert here has a guess?
I saw them (and many more) in a dry river bed in the hills, northern #Italy.
It would be a shame if someone posted the article that apparently GQ pulled shortly after publication about David Zaslav.
Even worse if it were an easy to save single image and could be re-shared.

Have any of you ever had an MRI? I hadn't, until last night, and I was in it about 20 seconds before I squeezed the panic button and told them this had to stop. I've never been that close to a complete panic breakdown before.
The restraint for my head also restrained my chest, making me feel like I couldn't breathe. The tube is small - inches away from my eyes. And it's LOUD, even with the earplugs.
I have a new definition of hell.
@nellie_m afaik, technically the terms have distinct meanings - link: https://embrace-autism.com/autism-and-camouflaging/
Camouflaging is the overall "process of changing or concealing oneβs natural personality in order to... be percieved as neurotypical"
Masking is one of three subtypes, and is about hiding autistic traits by activley monitoring e.g. body language, whereas Compensation would be tactics to account for difficulties in social situations (such as scripting) and Assimilation is about "putting on an act"
@ScottSoCal I'm sorry, sir, but the Top Gov has banned all satirical images of his Majesty, especially anything depicting him during his Saturday Pride Cosplay Drag Brunch for Kids. You'll have to register for the privilege to cover Mr. Pudding Fingers, and your Masadon account will be suspended until your loyalty to Meatball Ron is no longer in question. π
If you come upon a post with a hopeful and positive message about the world or our future, why don't you take a moment to consider these things before you post a negative comment about why people should be afraid and anxious:
What is my motivation? Why do I want to add negativity to this post?
Am I assuming people don't already understand the information I'm adding? Most people are well aware of the issues facing the world, having hope doesn't mean they are hiding their head in the sand, good things exist along with the bad.
Would this be better as a post sent from my own account?
Do I have any helpful solutions people can actually engage in, that they aren't already, or am I just being a Doomsayer?
I know it's scary out there right now, and it's easy to lean towards the negative. People without hope and joy have nothing to fight for. That doesn't mean they don't care, but no one should spend all their time in the darkness, we need light to thrive.
