We're gonna need a lot of under-eye concealer today!
Bring 'er in, boys
*beeping sound of concealer truck backing up*
@lizardsquid I know exactly what kind of meow that is…
@lizardsquid Yeah, it was pretty good. Took twice as long to cook as I thought it would though. Recipe said one hour! It took two and a quarter!!
I wouldn't normally make meat loaf, but it's very good for babies that are learning to feed themselves. It's easy to pick up, it's soft so they can eat it without teeth, and it's full of iron, which they can't get from their mother's milk.
@lizardsquid I'm pretty sure my computer has been the default for two years now.
More whining
@lizardsquid It's… really starting to get me down. Every time I think we've solved the last of it, we find something else that they did terribly, that sets us back, usually by thousands, again.
I'm lucky we have some money saved from when I was still working, but I'm very sad I can't use it to make any improvements, buy quality furniture for the baby's room, etc. It kind of locks us in to never getting ahead.
More whining
I don't expect to live in an amazing place as my first house, but I also don't think it's fair I have to spend tens of thousands fixing up shit that was caused by dodgy contractors and cheap work.
I don't think I want anything that unreasonable. I was just trying to make a home so I could have my little family.
More whining
So this shit with the plumbing/sewage is just another kick in the fucking teeth.
Oh, and I have no income. I'm not working. I'm a stay at home mum, we're on one income, and we're not really managing very well.
So this new thing, it's just. Just. Fucking.
So fucking great.
Aaaand as icing on the cake, if you complain about it, you get the "millennials are so entitled" shit for wanting your house to just, like, not be a hazard.
More whining
Basically, every single thing they did, they did as cheaply as possible. Their contractors cut corners, did things badly. Things like tiling over the waste drain in the laundry, to save a buck or two. Not installing the dishwasher properly so it leaks into the cupboard AND has a huge hole to let mice in. And my petty favourite: putting the ends of the towel rail too far apart so the rail doesn't stay…
…this shit has cost us, no joke, at least $15,000+ so far
More whining
So bitter and depressed about the things the previous owner of this house did when they prepared it for sale. They have screwed us over so many times.
Have just found out they didn't dig the trench for the drain/sewage right, so there's not enough fall, which is why our pipes get blocked so much. Minimum $5,000 to fix.
Whining
@lizardsquid Yeah, it's just… so relentless. I'm told it's intense for the first year or so. 7 months in today.
Thanks, I hope I get a decent rest too. Luckily I just finished a bunch of stuff (yay, cold brew coffee brewing in fridge for tomorrow) so settling in for an episode of Star Trek: Discovery.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
