@Liophu he's not. He did for a while, but that was months ago now. Right now his first teeth are cutting, so he's waking even more.

Well, I think he's down again, so time to claim my last two hours sleep.

Right now I would pay good money for a hotel where someone takes care of the baby and I get an uninterrupted sleep, complete with a little sleep in. I just want a solid 8–10 hours, and to wake feeling human.

@Liophu oh, definitely, and it's still kinda a scary question to need to ask, putting yourself out on a limb a little. I hope your courage is rewarded.

It's like the universe has granted me a toothache just as the baby is teething, so I can empathise better.

Totally stole some of his teething gel last night to rub on my own gums.

Nearly time to call the dentist up the road and beg for an emergency appointment.

Trying to find a way to help the baby with nasty teething pain, and those damn amber necklaces keep coming up.

Assuming amber does release that acid, and that it helps, and that you actually get amber and not fake stuff, I'm really not sure it's the best idea to affix a choking hazard to the little guy.

*puts baby in cute outfit for grandma's visit*

And yeah, mum is coming to give the little guy all the squishes and cuddles while I make a whole bunch of yummy baby-led weaning friendly food, like meat loaf.

I can't seem to get that kind of thing done when I'm here alone because the boy just yells that I'm not paying 100% attention to him at all times. 😂The plan is to make enough to freeze things so I can rest LATER with good food up my sleeve.

@Liophu Ahhh, but see, she doesn't believe in medical knowledge or science, and she thinks I am just making everything up in some kind of anxiety fever dream. Also I shouldn't listen to all these "experts", I should just listen to her, because she had one child once and he is the gold standard for all children everywhere (while also apparently being "exceptional" ??????).

On the plus side, MY mum is coming today, and she is mostly good.

@Liophu Not really, which isn't helping. My in-laws are chomping at the bit to help, but my MIL also doesn't listen to me, criticises everything I do, and just ignores stuff (like bedtimes, or the importance of tummy time) which makes trust… difficult.

Not that they are available at all right now. In this sweltering heat, everyone is stuck at home.

@Liophu Aww, thank you! Yeah, babies are hard, and for all the talk of "it takes a village", people seem to leave you to it by yourself. Between the isolation, and the endless work, it's wearing me down.

I keep thinking it'll get easier, but each new phase just brings more, but different, challenges, and I'm just… so tired.

Well, another day is at an end. Teething sucks. I'm told the first teeth can be worse than the rest, so hopefully it won't always be this bad. Then I'm told molars suck all over again.

Got a few steps completed on the whole legal/plumbing clusterfuck. They're going to review the footage from inside the drain and stuff. Still haven't contacted legal aid… baby hasn't been sleeping, so I haven't had a chance.

Yay, the cat doesn't have an abscess.

She has some kind of fatty lump? We're keeping an eye on it.

She's still super aggressive at the vet's office. :(
